It is now the season for mussels and you can have great ones here! Apart from that, you will find all the traditional Belgium dishes which are prepared with notable care and attention. I like my steak tartar with a little touch of truffle.Don't miss the nice fries and lovely desserts here.

Normally I am not a big fan of 'yuppie' places... but this is a nice and original concept. And the fresh soup I once had here was truly exceptional and gently priced.

We went for lunch and sat inside in the back room. It was very hot outside and for lunch it's a bit more quiet in the back. We had the salade caprese and a couple of drinks. Service was fine, and we did not have to wait a long time. Prices are average for eating at the market place of Halle, which is considered touristy, in any case you pay more than elsewhere because you are in the 'market place', which is very provincial, not to offend the nice church but it is not an attraction. This restaurant as the others around it is not special, rather casual, more of a cafe with 4 choices of salads. When we asked for the bill we were told cash only. Being American this always surprises me, but moreover in this case it is not right. If you are a restaurant and you charge your touristy prices, you should at least have a sign or tell guests it's cash only. Its a mood breaker to have to haul down the road for an ATM and cash. Moreover, cash cards such as Bancontact and Maestro are widely accepted in Belgium and not expensive. So, if you go, don;t go for the culinary upside, or the attractions, just stop for a drink and bring cash.
