Someone said that this is the #1 diner in the US, I cannot prove that, but it is a great place to eat. Forget that it is a diner, it is a great restaurant with an extensive menu, great food and excellent serviceYou might not be able to prove it, but you can certainly agree with it! It's nice to know you enjoyed our extensive menu and friendly service so much. Can't wait to serve you your favorite dishes again soon. Best,Tops Diner

Located in small and quaint downtown South Orange. It's not your typical looking diner and it's a bit more cozier. I visited with several co-workers during lunch hour on a Wednesday and the place was moderately busy. I was in the mood for breakfast and the menu had a nice variety of pancakes, waffles, and egg dishes. I decided on the pastrami and eggs. It included the hash browns and 4 half slices of rye bread. The coffee was decent. It's billed on the door that it has the best coffee in town but there is a Starbucks a few storefronts down.I was satisfied with my meal but not overwhelmed. The pastrami was fresh and lean. There were plenty of potatoes. We had to ask for a table setting because there wasn't enough on the table. We never received it so we just took one from the empty table next to us. Service was ok. Prices were very reasonable. There is some on-street parking but you most likely will park in a municipal lot. This place has a lot of potential because of the location and it's non-diner look. It's still a place I would return to

I came here this past week for lunch with some friends and we loved this place! It's a small diner, but still has plenty of tables. The service is very prompt and friendly and we had no issues. I had a turkey panini and it was absolutely massive and delicious. The fries with it were very fresh as well and crispy, which is a must. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food and I will definitely try to come back here again!

We met our friends for brunch on Labor Day: was not too crowded. Voted by NJ.com as best diner in Essex County, we decided to meet our friends for a meal. Our friends had the eggs Benedict and really liked them. My wife had an omelette and thought it was good but not great. I had a wrap with fries. The balsamic vinegar on the wrap made the wrap too soggy. The fries were good. Server was super friendly. They have a parking lot.
