Right now, hunting season is the prickle for venison. As an entrée, we enjoyed a nicely decorated field salad. My wife enjoyed a tender saddle of roe deer venison fillet with all the classical hunting season side dishes. My taste buds were made happy with a delicious roe steak. Both meals were served with homemade spätzli, red cabbage, chestnuts, cranberries and different game sauces. The mushroom sauce was especially delightful.The service was very courteous. We ate in the nicely decorated side room of the restaurant with comfortable wooden chairs. Decorations and furniture in this side room underline the homey, local Emmental culture.

We stayed for three nights in June 2019. Good traditional place to say with local-style food. Rooms simple but comfortable. Great walking and scenery in an unspoilt area of Switzerland.
