Waldbronn is small suburban village close to Karlsruhe, famous for their public bath and sauna, named Albtherme, and for elder people medical recovery.Recently there opened a small 4-Star Hotel with an excellent restaurant. No wonder: the Chef worked before in famous Baiersbronn's Restaurants.This is still insider knowledge, and so are most customers insiders, who already know, what jewel is there located with growing surprise!Coming to the food: Not yet a Michelin 3-Star-Restaurant but definitely above the level of all restaurants in this area! Just delicious food on high level.The service is also outstanding kind and professional.So I found a reason to stay in Waldbronn for dinner after swimming and not drive back immediately to Karlsruhe, to eat there somewhere!

Das Stadl ist ein sehr uriges Restaurant. Ich denke die deutsche Bezeichnung "Gasthaus" passt besser. Die Atmosphäre mit den schweren Holztischen und den Holzstühlen gefällt mir gut.Manche Stuhllehnen sind mit Fellen bezogen.Die Speisekarte ist sehr übersichtlich: Fünf oder sechs Fleischgerichte, ein paar Salate, ein vegetarisches Gericht. Das gefällt mir gut, da man davon ausgehen kann, dass das dann auch weitgehend frisch und frisch zubereitet ist.Wir hatten Rumpsteak mit Pommes bzw. Spätzle.Die Rumpsteaks waren gut. Wenn ich auch unter "medium" ein bisschen weniger "well done" erwartet hätte.Für 17 Euro fand ich sie allerdings etwas klein.Die Pommes waren ebenfalls lecker und in frischem Fett fritiert. Da gibt es nichts zu meckern...Die Spätzle kamen ohne SoÃe. Das fand ich etwas irritierend. Okay, man hätte Extra-SoÃe als Beilage dazubestellen können, aber ich wäre gar nicht auf die Idee gekommen, dass Spätzle ohne alles ausgegeben werden. Fand ich etwas schade.Insgesamt würde ich für das Essen vier von fünf Punkten geben..Allerdings muss ich an zwei Stellen dann doch noch abziehen:Die Tische sind sehr klein. Unser Tisch (mit der Schmalseite an der Wand stehend) war für fünf Personen gestuhlt - aber ich fand ihn schon für drei Personen recht eng.Ich mag es nicht, so eng zu sitzen. So etwas stört mich!Und dann sind wir anscheinend in einen Event-Abend geraten. Denn gerade, als unser Essen kam, fingen im vorderen Teil des Gasthauses Musik und eine LightShow an. Anscheinend wurde so etwas wie eine "Hüttengaudi" gegeben.Damit waren dann Gespräche am Tisch nur noch schreiend möglich. Das empfand ich als sehr unangenehm.Und ich hätte erwartet, dass man uns bei der Reservierung auf dieses Event hätte hinweisen können.

Super leckere, frisch zubereitete kleine kalte und warme Vorspeisen appetitlich auf einer Platte für zwei arrangiert (siehe Foto). Sehr zu empfehlen!

Ever wanted to sit in an old train carriage and munch delicious well-named burger concoctions with potato wedges or chips/fries while sipping Dr Peppers, A&W, Millers, Orangina or lemon ice tea? And then follow it all up with a milk shake or Ben&Jerrys ice cream?And if you prefer your friendly and patient waitresses and waiters to be wearing hints of 50s clothing to match the whole interior design then this is the place to go.Pulled out of the place in the evenings it is advisable to book a table. Weather permitting the outdoor deck is open and seats quite a few people under a wonderfully low tree.Kids are welcome and are served with due care and attention.The upstairs provides a larger room for further seating or larger groups/parties etc.There isnât a burger we canât recommend. The menu is self-explaining and all food is prepared carefully and well plated. For example the tasty coleslaw comes in itâs own little dish just in case youâd rather not have it interfere with the rest of the food. Vegetarians have a choice of food, too. Over the past years this restaurant has risen back up to high standards and seems to be maintaining them steadily. So it is now a highly recommendable place for dining out.
