The environment and staff invite you into a medieval meal with heavy, yet tasty Czech meals. They even have an open grill for your warming and viewing pleasure. Especially, you must try the Äeská kulajda, a very tastey egg soup (probably their best) The restaurant is centrally located, though hard to find. It's a great place for groups. But I must say, they have the most forgetful staff and they act so busy for having such a small restaurant. The meal are heavy and don't maintain the most flavorful food in town, but I still go for a meal here and there with friends

We visited a couple of times. First, just for beer which is all Budvar and all good. In the evening we went in for food. Not so good. The waiting staff very friendly, but it took over an hour for our food to arrive, and then the fries on my wife's burger were cold and undercooked. The bar itself is new and is nicely decorated, but they really need to sort the kitchen out.

This restaurant was recommended to us by our house host, and we were not disappointed. They offer Czech dishes but also non standard typical stuff. The service was prompt and friendly. They serve Staropramen beers and all sorts of cocktails and local wines. We liked it so much we visited the I restaurant in Plzen as well.Thank you for visiting

U Cerneho Konicka is an excellent two-room (bar and restaurant) people's pub, with plenty of locals present when I visited at 5pm. Furnishings are simple, with breweriana photos and over sixty enamel adverts on the walls. Service was friendly and attentive.Four beers were on tap, including Kvasnicory Platan Tanku, Lobkowicz and Merlin Cerny, all in top condition and a delight to savour as a change from the usual Budvar and Urquell. The Pony is situated 15 minutes' walk from the main Square, and is well worth a visit.

We stopped by here for lunch after spending some time in the village viewing the UNESCO status houses. There is a nice outside terrace with tables overlooking the street and also indoor dinin. A smallish menu but with plenty of variation; we had the Beef Goulash with dumplings which was very tasty and a more than adequate portion size for lunch. The coffee was excellent. And all for very reasonable prices. The friendly staff speak English, and the menu is in Czech, English and German.

Conveniently situated a short distance from the main square. Difficult to find as the entrance is down a narrow passage way and then through a poorly illuminated glass door next to some large stainless-steel brewersâ vessels. Once inside, thereâs a choice of the lower floor with its heavy timber beams or the roof top terraces above. The menu is comprehensive, the prices reasonable, the quality good and the service friendly and efficient. English is spoken.

Made a booking weeks before arriving. Its a popular watering hole very near to town center. Lots of locals and I think some were surprised as we were the only asians and a family. Ordered the beef steak, roast pork Czech dish, a bratwurst. Food was amazing. The original location Budweis dark and classic were absolutely smooth. Prices were reasonable and service was good. People were generally friendly. Glad we visited this beer hall!.

I usually donât eat at the #1 or #2 place in a city. Theyâre usually overpriced and pretentious. I am so happy that I chose #3 for my one and only dinner in this lovely city. Excellent beer, fast and very authentically friendly service and delicious food. I will absolutely return.

Not fine dining but the food is superb. You'll enjoy a delicious meal at excellent prices accompanied by piano play in the background (the pianist is always present).Excellent service. One of those rare occasions when you leave feeling like you got more than for what you paid.Top choice.
