Best Contemporary food near Prague, Bohemia, Czech Republic

Reviews on Contemporary food in Prague, Bohemia, Czech Republic. The word Prague means “uphill” and yes, the city Prague stands to its name. The amazing views from Prague Castle and the parks in Letná, Petřín and Vinohrady prove this. The hills surround a beautiful medieval center divided by a river in the picturesque Little Quarter and the cobblestone heart of Old Town in the Jewish Quarter. A stone’s throw from Old Town, you can find buzzing shopping in the cultural neighborhood of New Town. Everyone finds what they seek in Prague, and surely falls in love with this city.

Service, menu (70%french-30%czech) , presentation, wine list, taste combinations and...the bill: we were in seventh heaven. Don't forget to try the pavlova as dessert. One of the best we ever had. Off the beaten track but highly recommendable.

Estrella restaurant

Vegetarian restaurant in modern style. Our meals are prepared with seasonal and fresh ingredients. Our inspiration is the desire for continuous improvement and discovering tastes and technologies.

This was in fact our second visit to the small, cosy Estrella restaurant, tucked away in Prague’s back streets. If you find it though you will be rewarded with amazing service and exquisite food. The menu is small but surely this means they have perfected the options they have. I would argue it’s more vegetarian than vegan - for some people this may seem like tomato tomato? (Both vegan) but it can make a difference for some. Don’t fear though if you are vegan - the options are still there. The rice balls in tomato sauce were insanely good. The sauce was next level ketchup, probably the best tomato sauce I’ve ever had and I wasn’t in a hurry to finish the curry either.Bravo.

After having several very heavy meals of “authentic” Czech food, we were so happy to eat at Sova. The atmosphere is light and bright. The duck liver pate with onion jam, pumpkin soup, duck salad with figs, trout with carrot puree, goulash soup were not only beautifully/artfully presented, but delicious and light as well. The “pear” dessert with mousse was especially lovely. Thanks fellow travelers for recommending Sova to us. I would like to mention that the staff was so accommodating and nice after we arrived on the wrong date. They were able to seat us without making us feel badly in a nice alcove. A+ for service as well as dinner.Dear Arlene,Hello!Thank you for your visit and review! We're glad that you had an enjoyable time with us!Hope to see you again!

One of the best fine dining restaurants we have experienced anywhere in the world. The service and food come no better. Our sommelier, Patrick paired the wine beautifully with our tasting menu, even taking us to their wine cellar for a viewing. The manager, Lukas was attentive to every detail timing the plates with our pairings , and the waitress, Veronica assisted with making our 26th Anniversary evening very special and memorable. Thank you. Thank you very much for your lovely comment and we are looking forward to your next visit
