Posh restaurant???? More like a cafe wanting to be a posh restaurant! The plates were stained and the food was lukewarm. Customer service was nonexistent. Don’t get me wrong I have been here last year and the service was amazing. However this experience was disappointing in every way possible. I would of complained but it was hard to get someone’s attention and by the time it was ready to pay the bill, I was closing a business deal and did not want to ruin losing the deal. I would recommend your staff to be briefed on how to deliver good customer service. Was the food really so terrible and is the Mary Beale restaurant really as bad as you make out ?I only ask this question because the tendency on social media is to exaggerate everything,We have a beautiful hotel with amazing grounds, and many hundreds of satisfied guests every week.I hope you raised the issues with the staff at the time, if they had known they would have taken actions to rectify any problems. If you are able to advise me of the date and time of your meal in the restaurant, I can make further investigations. Thank you.Andrew BealeManaging DirectorBeales Hotels

I visited this place 2 years ago and last Friday.Such a change! Stylish and pleasant, smells fresh, clean toilets, smiling staff members. A huge outside space at the back, nice lighting in the garden. I cannot comment on food as we only had a bottle of red wine plus 2 small bottles of sparkling water. Total bill for that was £20.Bodyguard at the door checking IDs. Good, good!Full od people, families, students, every generation...I am glad that now we have a nice local pub on this side of Potters Bar. A proper competitor to The Old Manor and much better than so famous and 'posh' (or they think so?) Builders Arms.
