The Melrose House Cafe's High Tea was a wonderful way to celebrate a friend's birthday - worth every penny! The service was exceptional and the tasty morsels were absolutely delicious! I will definitely visit again with family and friends. Ladies (and gentlemen), we are so worth this special treat! PS: They also have beautiful cakes and treats if not interested in the full High Tea experience. ;-)

Took the opportunity to book an evening meal at Twelve Trees for a birthday celebration. Welcomed at the door, lovely table close to the fire and friendly, efficient service. My meal was one of the best I have had the pleasure to experience. Well thought out dishes with a fantastic blend of flavours, without "trying too hard". Absolutely loved the beets and goats cheese and the ginger medley dessert was gorgeous (ok I'm a huge ginger fan). All reasonably priced too. Thanks to the team at Twelve Trees for memorable evening out.Thank you so much for choosing our restaurant to celebrate your birthday. Decided to eat here on a Friday night before the movies, we both had the fillet steak, perfectly cooked, delicious potato gratin and sauces...dessert was just as good, definitely reccomend....not the place for a cheap feed though, but well worth the price with the service and quality of food.

We came here for a birthday lunch and despite being winter, the orientation of the outside deck meant sun and shelter from wind so we sat outside. The food was delicious and each dish exactly as described on the menu. The mixed platters (jellyfish board) were perfect to share amongst a group and there was local food such as smoked fish and gourmet sausages. Gluten free friend had her own platter which was done to the standard a coeliac person could safely eat it. Portions were generous and menu catered for a range of appetites and ages. We had very prompt and friendly service. Highly recommend to locals and visitors alike.

Went for lunch - the views looking out to the shimmering water and snow capped mountains magnificent.Friendly prompt service, yet never felt rushed, was a long leisurely lunch catching up with family.Food exceptional, very hard to choose from menu and wide range of wines.So good to see such a wide range of innovative dishes using seafood.Couldn't think of a better place to have a memorable lunch at in Nelson!

We had a sensational experience at Arbour last night. The booking process was straight forward and user friendly. We enjoy an early dinner and it suited us to take advantage of the 5.30pm start on a bleak winters night. Liz warmly greeted us on arrival and we began our 4 course Marlborough taste experience. The restaurant is a wonderful space- light, airy and tranquil. Warm and cosy with no sense of crowding. We enjoyed the relaxed friendly environment which you don't always find in these sort of places. All of our waiters were well informed, pleasant and helpful- obviously carefully chosen and trained by management.Other reviewers have described the wonderful flavours and the showcasing of the ingredients from this very special part of New Zealand. The dishes served were imaginative, tasty and delicious. It is a very long time since we have had such wonderful food in this country. We enjoy wine by the glass and there was a very good sampling of quality local wines available-obviously carefully chosen.We have spent a lot of money over the years attending Michelin 3 Star Restaurants in various parts of the world. In our view Arbour achieves as much as most of these places do at a fraction of the cost and in a far more friendly setting. This restaurant is truly sensational and we look forward to further visits. Well done Team Arbour!
