A very popular venue , based in a very large room, no soft furnishings, but even so far less noisy than you might expect. The proprietors have wisely avoided cramming tables too close together, so that the room at least feels infinitely less crowded than it regularly is.Sunday lunchtime is heavily reliant on standard roasts: three options, each rather curiously - including chicken - served with Yorkshire pudding. Whilst all three meets were impressively good, and not overcooked, the vegetables were very limited, both in scope and quantity for four people. And the very overcooked cabbage can best be described as "reminiscent of school."Good ambience, but only okay food.Hi Andrew, Thank you for taking the time to leave us this review. We were looking forward to dining here after reading many positive reviews, and indeed the food was very good although at a higher price point and great for that special occasion.However, bread and oils were placed on the table which were not shown on either of the menus, although we were charged for them when the bill arrived. As these were not requested we asked for them to be removed from the bill, a little more transparency would have been appreciated.Hi Andrew, Thank you for taking the time to leave us this review. Please accept our apologise for being charged for the bread and oils. This was a complete oversight on our end and you should not have been charged for these. We hope you enjoyed the rest of your evening however, and we look forward to welcoming you back again in the future. Kind regards

The food here is exceptional and itâs a beautiful location BUT small area to eat inside so majority of food seating is outside. The issue with this is that no waitress service taking orders outside which means a bar with 2 people trying to do drinks plus take food orders for the majority of people. This means you easily how to wait a long time and arguments in the queue on who were next. Please invest in staff outside to take orders at peak times!
