While attending college in Montclair, Veggie Heaven became one of my favorite restaurants in the area. Unlike a lot of Chinese food I've had, Veggie Heaven's food isn't greasy at all, and it always tastes super fresh. I'm a vegetarian so I naturally gravitate towards plant-based restaurants, but I've also introduced my meat eating family and friends to Veggie Heaven, and they all love it too! The service has always been fast when I've eaten there. I live on the west coast now, but every time I'm back in the area, I make sure to pop in for some food to go. It's an unassuming looking restaurant, but don't judge a book by its cover - Veggie Heaven makes awesome healthy Chinese food!

We have been looking for an upscale, gourmet Chinese restaurant for so long - ever since KoShing closed down many years ago. Finding The Noble East was such a relief! The decor is so cool, reservations were easy to make and the environment is comfortable and still a little swanky. Itâs very clear that the food is authentic even if most of it is âAmericanâ chinese food. We tried 3 apps - vegetable dumplings, scallion pancakes and an egg roll. All were good but I would try different options next time for sure. The pancakes were over fried and lacked real scallion flavor. For our entrees we chose eggplant/tofu in garlic sauce, dehydrated string beans and a seafood platter. The food was incredible - especially the string beans. They were perfection. Crunchy, not overly oiled up and flavorful. Same goes for the eggplant (well cooked and tasty) and the seafood entree (my mother cleaned her plate). Apart from the great food, we enjoyed some of special aspects that are often missing from other Chinese restaurants. They serve crunchy noodles with duck sauce and hot mustard at the start of the meal and you can order hot tea as well. And between courses the server brings hot towels for your hands which is something we hadnât been treated to in a long time. Service is fine - nothing special but not bad! Canât wait to return and also order takeout! Also - they have an amazing selection of ginger ale/beer of various flavors. I recommend the passion fruit. Itâs also BYOB.
