This newly open restaurant offers a short but great menu fresh options.The truffled bikini and cod omelette are a must. Portions aren't huge but they are perfect for sharing.It's situated just by the old town beach and you can enjoy a sunset view while enjoying a glass of local wine. All the staff is really friendly and helpful. If you are lucky to have Nancy as your waitress, you'll have the best service.The bill won´t hurt you either.

I took my Indian family to Grop to experience real Spanish/Catalonian food. I called and the staff at Grop explained what they could do to enhance my in-law's dinning experience. When we arrived everything was ready. The maitre d' spoke English well and she helped us understand what we were ordering: ingredients, preparation, taste and textures. It was one of the most pleasant dinning experiences of all my travels. We all agreed that it was the best food, the best service, the best location, and the nicest people we have met this trip. I would visit L'escala again just to eat there. I recommend Grop enthusiastically!

Really liked this restaurant which is shaped like a cellar. Service was mature and professional and food excellent. Had prawns wrapped in sole and my wife the beef rolls. House wine very cheap , excellent desserts with a free drink of Ratafia at the end .An excellent dining experience repeated on our second visit when I ordered a sirloin steak from specials menu to find that it was a fillet steak and one of the best I have ever eaten!

We had a lovely evening here, we were with 8 persons and a nice round table was ready for us. We asked for several formulas for the menu, none of them was a problem also for the kids they made an adjustment. Very friendly staff. I had the mushrooms cream and the monkfish Paella both were very tastefull and rich on taste!If you are in the neighborhood, don't hesitate and make a reservation!

We had a wonderful meal at La Gruta. We chose the option for starter, entree and dessert. We started with a tomato, burrata salad and a octopus, chickpea appetizer. Both were delivered quickly and were excellent. The octopus was tender and the chickpeas were carefully spiced to not overwhelm the octopus. For our entree's we had the Beef Steak and the Pork. Both were excellently prepared and perfectly cooked. Our desserts were huge and beautifully presented. The dinner and wine prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food.

We waited half an hour to be seated but it is normal at this of the year as it is a touristic area. Better book in advance.We ordered Fideuá with clams & cuttlefish, mussels in curry sauce with thyme, sirloin steak and some typical desserts.Everything was delicious and very well presented.We noticed that the fideuá only had 3 clams and informed our waiter about it. Harrison dealt with the issue marvelously well informing the cook and very generously appeared with a dish full of garlic seasoned clams (house specialty entree), furthermore he invited us to a glass of cava (Catalan champagne) making our stay a full unforgettable delight.Will return without any doubtThank you Harrison

We first saw El Patio walking back from the old town on the front and thought we would give it a try. We were not disappointed. The food and service from start to finish was flawless. Lovely, friendly service and the food was oh wow beautiful! We normally have 6/7 tapas dishes between two. The sangria is amazing, definitely worth a glass or two! It is by far bistro standard. Keep it up El Patio, we will return.
