We enjoyed all things maple at this beautiful spot in the woods. The service was outstanding from start to finish and the massive stone, wood burning fireplace added charm to the already quaint restaurant. We started the meal with maple flavoured beer and bowls of pea soup with bacon and cracklings. Crepes with apple, maple sausages, bread pudding with caramel sauce and of course tarte au sucre were highlights. Be sure to checkout the Auberge nearby for great views.Thank you and we look forward to your next visit!

We were a large group who usually go to another cabane a sucre in the area but we decided to try something different simply because it was unlimited taffy on snow and you could bring your own wine (although we met for breakfast so didn't bring anything). It was very chaotic .... the line that starts for the buffet and the place to buy tickets is together, so people were getting upset about the double wait. The food was mediocre, ham was warm cold cuts and not actually ham roast. Bacon was not your typical bacon either. The food is cooked then placed on a table without warmers, but luckily the food goes fast, but I found the potatoes to be cold and I had to wait for a fresh batch. I asked for butter but was told they didn't have any. Not much actually cooked with maple syrup and only one half bottle of syrup on each table for about 15 people. It was very crowded so we had to sit by the front door that was constantly being opened. So we ended up eating with our coats on and the kids gave up eating because their hands were too cold. Once we went outside to get the taffy on snow, that's when it got really chaotic. There is a small courtyard area that is very cozy with an open fire but can get really crowded quickly. There was a very small window where you can get the taffy on snow and then you stand should to shoulder trying to eat it. My daughter has long hair and as soon as the wind blew, her hair got caught on the strangers taffy around her which created a huge mess! They also have their horse and sleigh ride that runs right through the courtyard. So every 10 minutes, everyone has to move to one side, making it even more crowded. I have been to several cabane a sucre in the area but this one was my least favorite. It could be very quaint and cozy except that they allow too many people into a very small space. I would definitely suggest going elsewhere. We are sorry you didn’t enjoy your experience at our sugar shack. We acknowledge and take notes of your observations. Please let us rectify some of your comments; usual bacon is unfortunately not part of the traditional sugar shack meal but you might find some sugar shacks offering that option for your convenience. Our food is placed on a hot warm counter which you might not easily notice since the serving dishes are the same color of the hot plate underneath them. We are sorry you had the wrong information about the butter, we do have small cups of butter available, and there are usually three (3) bottles of maple syrup for every table of that many people. Please note that we aim to make best use of the establishment which was built by our grandparents. One example is our new closed vestibule which is reducing cold air to get in through the front door. Perhaps heating in the vestibule is still not sufficient, so we take note of this. Some changes are difficult to quickly put in place, but in the meantime your crowded experience is certainly not the impression we want to give to our clients. All in all we are sorry you didn’t enjoy your meal and we hope you will find a sugar shack which corresponds to your expectations.

We searched as we were driving from Ottawa, and decided on this restaurant. It was a good choice, with lots of locals obviously, and good BBQ chicken. I rated it as 'excellent' because it was a pleasant surprise. We both had the BBQ chicken with double slaw instead of fries, and coffee. Service was good, food was good, and it was a nice, friendly locals spot.

I didn't think this was something I would say in a review but it is worthy, maybe the best poutine in Canada? This basic very clean diner has some incredible food. They serve poutine, fries, burgers, hot dogs and few other things. Also they have the usual pop or water to drink but it's the food that is the real superstar here. The burgers were pretty good not the best ever but very good. A simple well cooked patty with a plain bun. Alright, back to the poutine. The handcut fries mixed with the squeaky cheese curds topped with the almost perfect hot gravy.....Awesome! We ordered a few burgers plus two orders of poutine to share. We all finished the food and my kids insisted we get another poutine. If your in the area I can't recommend this place enough. Let's hope you not counting calories that day because it might be scary.

We found out about this little Casse Croute from a friend of mine. The first time I ate here, was just for a quick bite....a shared pizza with my friend. The pizza was better than most I have tasted and the secret is a special homemade sauce. Apparently it isn't the only thing that is homemade! You can tell that this is a different fast food restaurant. The owners, Steve and Patricia really take pride in this place and it shows. The friendly counter or table service is second to none. You can strike up a quick conversation with either owner! They are so willing to please. Just the other day, Saturday to be exact, we planned on meeting there with friends for breakfast. Dare I say, but we had 2 eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, cretons, beans, potatoes, toast and coffee for a mere $8.25! It was exquisite! They even sell their own bottled olive oil...a product that they themselves have imported from their hometown in Greece! There is always a "blackboard" special daily! Try their Souvlaki and Poutine! You won't be sorry!

Went for lunch.Has small elevated terrace in front with 4-5 tables with parasols but we ate inside.Restaurant is cozy with two sections.Lunch menu had burgers, pasta, salads, sandwiches and soups. At lunch there was one waitress and the cook on duty and they were busy, friendly and efficient.I had the Burger Loge 95 with beer that was blended beef & pork with french fries and a mayo-mustard with curry that was real yummie...the burger was cooked to perfection with romaine lettus, tomato and onions...it was real good.My wife had the chicken breast burger (real marinated chicken breast) with the same sauce and side and she said it was really good, cooked well and juicy.Service was a bit slow because the waitress was alone...the cook brought us our meals and was very apologetic for the wait...these girls were working real hard to please.Summary: I recommend this place for lunch..it was real good but a bit pricy..$47 with 18% tip.I will be going back once in the area

Reading some of the negative reviews and can only wonder what kind of restaurant the negative reviewers frequent. We just had a wonderful meal, worth raving about. Delicious food, attentive staff, what more would you want? This is not a diner, it’s a fine restaurant worth visiting. Definitely worth a stop.

This restaurant (though a bit pricier than others of the same type in the area) is amazing! The quality of ingredients used on the pizza is out if this world. The sauce for the poutine is so unique (however it is unfortunately made with grated cheese not curds). We often order the all dressed pizza, poutine, and the pasta with their bolognese sauce. All three of those meals are just wonderful!!! Great job.

La Sucrerie de la Montagne de Rigaud is one of a kind Quebec experience. A whole setup of sugarshak barns, old store, old kitchen, horse sleigh ride brings right back a century. The food is typical with ham, meat pie, oreilles de criss, mashed patatoes, omelettes soufflé, french pancakes, bread, peasoup, delicious sugarpie and of course loads of maple syrup. Ther's a live band playing all kinds of Quebec music with rils and violins too. Oh I forget the owner walks around with his big white beard and his red lumberjack coat and ceinture fléchée. A real treat for the family. The only drawback is that it is so popular, they get busloads of people everyday. It is crowded but still not to be missed. Enjoy !
