I was delighted with the food, from the starters to the main courses and the deserts. I wanted to write a poem to that food. I will definitively come back to this jewel of restaurant.

The Clock House Cafe is a quirky, vintage cafe located behind The British Horological Institute in Upton. The cafe prides itself on its home made cakes and scones and has one of the best breakfast menus around. The menu includes coffees and a beautiful ra
Located in Upton, just off the main road. Large car park. Lovely little cafe, nice decor, quirky building. But thatâs where the charm ends. The staff were quite abrupt, rolling their eyes and tutting as we didnât know what we wanted 30 seconds after sitting down. If you order a cream tea, but something before it, you need to purchase another drink as you canât have the tea from the cream tea!! The sandwich bread was lovely and fresh, but the fillings scarce. About a teaspoon of coleslaw on the side and a bit of side salad. £6.95 The âtuna mayonnaiseâ filling for the jacket potato was more a âmayonnaise & tunaâ as it was about 90% mayonnaise 10% tuna. Again, served with a teaspoon of coleslaw and a bit of side salad. £7.95The scones, although small, were very nice. But not worth the £5.50. The food is not worth the price. Certainly not value for money, or for the quality. Itâs also hardly âservice with a smileâ unless of course you are known by the staff and are treated like royalty like the couple on the table next to us were. Their money is no better than ours..... but now you wonât be getting any more of ours. Manners and a smile cost nothing.

Excellent place to go to for lunch, offering a wide range of hot and cold snacks and meals suitable to all tastes including particular dietary needs, including gluten free. Food is freshly prepared and well worth the wait. Menus suit all ages and include breakfast, lunchtime and afternoon tea choices. Set in the grounds of Southwell Minster, the staff offer a very relaxing and friendly atmosphere and are willing to help if you are unsure about any aspect of the menu. Good value for money and suitable for families. Set in the same building as the Minster shop which is also well worth a visit. We'll be back!
Though small, this café offers loads of choice. The food is delicious, portions generous, and it's great value for money. It's a relaxed space, with a few seats indoors and outdoors. The lady who served me was lovely. This is a great place to grab lunch in Southwell to eat in or take away.

A great place to have lunch with friends. Sandwich and cake great although ask to taste soup before you buy as it was very spicy. Lovely to have the wood burner going. A little on expensive side compared with Derbyshire cafes. Lovely location about 15 mins walk from River Trent. We would visit again.

A beautiful tearoom overlooking the fishing lake, serving multi-award winning cakes, tea, coffee & ice cream
Visited for the first time and loved the seating area outside overlooking the lake. Queued to order food. Only breakfasts and cakes available due to annual leave! We thought the bacon sandwich & sausage sandwich were small for the price charged. Plenty of filling but on very small slices of bread. Good selection of cakes but not the best Iâve seen. A slice of cake from a loaf tin was overpriced. Plenty of muffins. Staff were very friendly. The inside of the cafe was nice with immaculate toilets. Not sure we would visit again as feel itâs very overpriced compared to similar places.

Visited on a very quiet afternoon. We received a very warm welcome as always by the tall lady. Feel so bad not knowing her name after many years visiting this Garden centre/tearoom. She helped with my mum in her wheelchair. She is always very friendly & attentive, other staff too. Delicious tea & scones. If you want a place for friendliness & quality this is the place. Excellent in every way .

Truly wonderful food which has been consistently excellent for many years. I attended an event at the deli recently and the buffet was superb. Couldnât recommend highly enough.

Went today for lunch. One had scampi & chips, one had cheese & ham omelette & chips, coke & coffee. Coffee cold, chips overdone, dried up & inedible. Omelette basically ok but overdone & rubbery. Scampi ok but again chips inedible. Asked to speak to owner to discuss, got message back to say he was busy! Poor Team Leader had to apologise over and over. Not her fault, The fault was in the kitchen and the owner who couldn't be bothered to spend five minutes discussing the problem! Waiting staff very good and very helpful, especially Team Leader who should not have to take responsibility for the cooking which is the owners responsibility, but he obviously couldn't care less about customers. Will not be going again!! Such a shame it used to be a brilliant place to eat and drink with friends.Dear Cassie,Our staff do a fantastic job dealing with all sorts of issues including customers that eat all of their food and then complain about it. You were offered complimentary drinks and a refund, as you felt that this was not enough, you then went on to threaten to post reviews on Trip advisor as you felt this offer was not good enough. I Myself was dealing with Garden Centre Customers and felt that the duty manager had bent over backwards to do her best. She explained the issue to me about the food and what she had offered, my intervention would not of changed the result. We don't have managers available for customers to attempt bypass them to speak the "owner" because they think the result is going to be different. My managers are able to make complex decisions and 95% of the time i will support the decision made.We as a business will not be beaten with a stick by customers writing reviews as we all do the very best we can, in a complex environment. The duty manager will be getting personal praise from myself for dealing with you so well. This has been confirmed by yourself writing 2 very poisonous reviews on our site, I hope that you feel that you have made the world a better place. I have also checked some of your previous reviews and a similar pattern emerges you have 6 good reviews and 5 Bad reviews, either you are not good at picking places to go or you really have an issue with good people wanting to do their best for you.
