I was surprised not to find this establishment listed on Trip Advisor. Also to be told that the post code that I initially gave (BT27 4AA) did not relate to the U.K.!! It is the post code given on the restaurant's information card.A waitress service is provided - often by those with a learning or other disability; the "Stepping Stones, N.I." establishments provide training and employment for those with "handicaps". It's philosophy is: "Supporting People: Realising Potential"The restaurant opens Monday to Friday from 7.45am to 3.00pm.I was immediately shown to a table and was served very quickly. On this, my first visit, I had a "home-baked" scone scone with butter and jam and a pot of tea; the scone was rhubarb and ginger and was delicious. It was fairly busy, being lunch time (12.30pm) and most customers were having lunch ("Specials" every day). Service was friendly and personable. All my enquiries were answered enthusiastically.Tables were cleared promptly and hygiene seemed to be good; clean uniforms worn by staff. Comment and loyalty cards were provided. It is within five minutes walk of Lisburn town centre therefore competes with around ten other cafe/restaurants.A mixture of soft seating (for coffee etc) and tables for more formal dining is provided. It is situated on the ground floor "just off the street" so it is wheelchair friendly. Decor simple and appropriate.Because of its ethos and excellent service/good food - it is worth supporting!Recommended.

I called for the first time with my son who was home for a visit from England. He had a fry, I had scrambled eggs bacon and toast. The helpings were more than generous, and cooked to perfection. So much so that my son took a photo of his Ulster fry, to take back home to show how it should be done!!! The service was fast, pleasant , and the cappuccinos we had were perfection. I shall certainly return very soon, and try the lunch menu too. Thoroughly recommended !!

Welcome to Hedleys... that's what you get a real welcome, in person from the owner Stephen who daily greets his customers in person with a warm friendly handshake and a genuine pleased to see you smile...this is a gentleman who genuinely appreciates your business.....on to the food now, and without a doubt it's warm, cooked fresh , homely type food....from their reasonable fry ups (under a fiver for 8 piece cooked breakfast), their home made mince pie is delicious, stew is another winner especially on a cold day. Genuinely couldn't rate this wee gem highly enough, from the food to the customer service it's 5 star. I'm there almost daily ☺*****

The first waitress, long dark hair and swarthy skin, came over and took the order which arrived promptly.I requested skimmed milk but semi skimmed arrived as apparently they don’t do skimmed milk! Pity the waitress didn’t know! My scrambled eggs were swimming in water and were so close to white they looked like porridge. The second waitress was so helpful and pleasant and took them away to remove the water. They returned just the same so the waitress offered to drain them herself. She obviously did her best but they still had water in them. Completely tasteless! However the other three meals were very good with no complaints.I watched the first waitress look at our empty plates and didn’t bother to clear the table, leaving it for the next available waitress. This same waitress sat and chatted with a customer while my friend stood waiting to order afternoon tea. She ignored my friend, let her stand about and only acknowledged her when I approached. Not much work in this woman and personality minus! Lucky the rest of the staff were lovely.Thank you for your feedback. We pride ourselves on the quality of our coffee. In order that the natural fats in milk are not burned during the process of heating/ frothing milk, it is imperative that only semi and full fat milk are used to ensure quality. We do this under the advise from the roastary from which our coffee beans are harvested and supplied. E.g. Skinny Latte (semi skimmed milk)Latte (Full fat) We apologise for the misunderstanding, but hope we have provided more clarity for you surrounding this issue. We are sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your scrambled eggs. The next time you visit please make yourself known and we will aim to provide you with breakfast on the house. As for our waitresses, in order to ensure the smooth running of the tea room, each one, whilst perhaps unbeknownst to our customers is playing a different role. For example one will be responsible for orders, another for drinks and cutlery, another for clearing tables and so forth. Each one will endeavour to see to your needs within their role as quickly as possible. With regards to your final comments, as well as being a Tea Room, our business has a great number of patrons who become more than simply an order to us. it is not uncommon for our staff to briefly chat to such patrons, as a matter of fact, we feel it is an important part of their job. We trust that it is evident that we are a small family business who value a personable approach. Finally should you wish to book an Afternoon Tea this must be booked in advance by telephoning 02892638099 or by booking at the till area located near the entrance.
