Selected as the place for a Mothers Day lunch, we found the Kallista Tea Rooms a charming place to eat.Being Mothers Day the placed was packed but it was The food selected for a Mothers Day menu was well worth the wait.A spectacular outlook among the massive gums, with birds to complete the surroundings in the comfort of the "50/60"s building. Great food attentive wait staff & a "lay back"atmosphere maks this a great venue.

Came across this place looking for somewhere to brunch .. originally we set sail for sassafras but drove 3 minutes uphill to Olinda ..The little village is sooooo cute .. donât miss out but a visit to this cafe is imperative .. Service was a bit rushed with the staff trying to please too many at once however the Chef was cool and calm when we presented him with food issues for four! Great job! This gorgeous little cafe in Cockatoo is the home of the most delicious hand crafted chocolates I have ever tasted. Once you have experienced Catherine's beautifully presented chocolates you will not be satisfied with anything less. It started as a trip to the local Monthly market, and when looking for brunch we (as it turned out) were lucky to get a table here, on the balcony overlooking the large main dining area. We had poached and scrambled eggs well presented and tasty. I was fascinated by the number of cyclists in various forms of licra, who obviously set out to ride here, as many of them filled the reserved tables we noticed on the way in. The Brunch does a lot of really great stuff, especially with how the meals are prepared and people are served. There are also a lot of blue couches for community feeling and meeting.The Caesar salad has the right balance of crouton and bacon and dressing to lettuce and Parmesan cheese. I appreciated the green plate it was served on.There is a great variety of hot and cold drinks as well as all-day breakfast if you like that sort of thing.McBride is in the middle of a hill so there is good access to car parking and walking tracks.The Impossible Quiche has a great mixture and texture inside it.None of the 13-dollar meatball options were available when I came.

Had brunch. The cafe is warm and inviting and the staff were lovely (& patient). Indoor/outdoor seating. The food was delicious and large portions. The soup was Devine! I wasn't sure from the outside - but quality food, & service with a smile here. We arrived as a group late afternoon and were delighted to find all day breakfast options available. Having flown to Melbourne from various corners of the Country earlier inn the day - we arrived famished & left satisfied! I thoroughly enjoyed my poached eggs, avocado, fetta & pistachio dukkah. Brilliant food prepared with pride but not pretention. Coffee good too.
