I loved this place all while I was in Bentota. If you want to have authentic Sri Lankan cuisine then I recommend you to check this place out. Itâs a very simple place, nothing fancy yet that traditional charm and tasty food would won you over.

What a find this place was, a bakery downstairs with traditional Sri Lankan cakes and bread, but if you venture upstairs you can taste Sri Lanka at its best, I ordered chicken and rice which came with 5/6 different vegetable sides, I also requested some roasted red chillids, which did finish the meal off. I also had an EGB ginger beer ( the best in Sri Lanka) besides the amazing taste and amount of food, my bill for 1 was under 300 lkr.

Caffé Italiano is at the moment the only coffee shop in Bentota and is definitely worth a visit. Located in the nicely restored Ramdhalee building next to the Ramdhalee restaurant. Currently the sign outside says Caffitaly but the owner said that soon the sign outside will be as in the added picture: Caffé Italiano.Espresso was nice and strong, cappuccino with good amount of foam and not too hot, Noth as they should be. Nice little extra is that the coffee is served with a slice of cake and small glass of water.If you are looking for a decent coffee, this is a recommended place. We went here for an evening meal . Although the place seemed virtually empty on arrival it soon started to fill up. Luckily arriving early we got a waterside table. I was amazed when I was told I couldn't have the Prawns I ordered. A first in Sri Lanka but when the food did come we both enjoyed our meal.
