It is 3 km (2 mi) (2 nm) E of the island of Skopelos. Alonnisos is also the name of a village on the island, as well as the municipality that encompasses the island and the village.

If, like us, you find yourself in Patitiri Harbour as part of the island tour from Skiathos, then break free from the crowds, forget the harbour front bars, and head for the hill(s).Lithos is situated to the far right (as you leave the boat) of the harbour, nestled in the rocks and is accesible via steps built in to the hillside. A gentle climb is rewarded by wonderful views out to sea and a cool and relaxing cafe/bar.While the views are certainly worthwhile, perhaps the most rewarding part of Lithos is the warm welcome and hospitality from the owner.We arrived in the afternoon, hot and bothered after a climb, and were welcomed with a complimentary jug of iced water. We were looking for a light lunch and ordered toasties (tost) which were served with crisps and salad. The beers were served in ice cold glasses and accompanied by even more crisps and some nuts.The bar is set out over many levels, with the bar and toilets at the very top level. Perhaps this bird's eye view gives the owner an advantage as the service was amazingly speedy and attentive. A wonderful way to spend a few hours before reboarding the boats for home.

This lunch stop was spontaneous: on our way to a beach we saw a roadside sign advertising 'Fresh Lobster Caught Daily' and couldn't resist. Firstly the location is truly stunning; Kalamakia is a fishing village and is literally a cluster of houses around the water front set back into the steep hillside: right on the water's edge are a handful of tavernas. Quite simply, there is no better place to eat lunch. The fish and seafood are all caught daily, and the vegetables grown in the kitchen garden next door. We had wild lobster with spaghetti and some salads. The food was exquisite, the service charming and the location magical.

Small family restaurant and pension next to the Votsi bay. The number of dishes they offer is not huge, but the ones you can get ther are very good. The staff is fluent in english, so nothing will be lost un translation. Their terrace looks on the bay so you csn enjoy your meal lookin at the sea.

The staff is very polite. It is situated in Patitiri, the port, and it has a view to the sea. You can taste traditional sweets. There is no variety in savory crepes though.

Wonderful terras cafe on the Patitiri waterfront (not in Steni Vali as listed). Excellent coffee and sandwiches! Very comfortable chairs and above very friendly and efficient staff and owners! Vasiliki was my favourite waitress. We are so looking forward to being back there in June/July 2019!

We enjoyed breakfast here every morning of our stay.... the most amazing Greek yoghurt with honey and seasonal fruits, beautifully presented and extremely tasty. Good coffee too and friendly staff. The cafe is situated in a lovely square. Perfect for watching the world go by.
