The newest thing in the place is the plates and theyâre 25 years old. Ceptin Alice of course. You can almost taste the savory bbq outside in the air. Inside is bout as clean as something can get having been scrubbed for three decades. Theyâve got a fine product here. Pork is slow smoked in a real pit, has a nice bark rides a bun well sauces or not. Pickles are cold. Brunswick stew is meaty and makes a statement. Fries are hand cut and delicious. Other sides are rather pedestrian. Service is agreeable, inviting and down right hospitable. There are a lot of smiles inside. Makes yours one too. GREAT BBQ!

We stopped here for dinner and really enjoyed our meals. All were very good. We ordered the Brisket (sliced), Chicken Philly & a burger. The onion rings and Mac & Cheese were delicious as well. 3. Hog Wild BBQ

My husband, son and I stumbled across Hog Wild BBQ while cutting across to Highway 5 from Chapel Hill Road. As BBQ lovers we like to try restaurants we haven't been to and being supper time we figured what the heck. While the BBQ beef and pork were very moist and tender there was no smoke flavor AT ALL. They do have hand cut fries that my son had as a side and they were pretty good but I don't eat at BBQ restaurants for the fries. I will say that the restaurant was clean and nicely decorated and the service was great. Plus my husband and son got the deep fried honeybun a la mode which they raved about for dessert so I'm rating this a 3 out of five for those reasons alone. Had the BBQ been smoked as BBQ should I would have been happy to give a higher rating.

While visiting my daughter and her family in Douglasville this past weekend they wanted to go to Dickey's Barbecue Pit for dinner. I was really not impressed with the place or the food. I would rate Dickey's as just average, nothing special. The smoked brisket was tender and juicy but pretty bland and had to be doctored up with a bit of salt and BBQ sauce. Skip their Mac & Cheese, pretty tasteless, I've had better out of a box. For the quality of the food you get I just did not think the value for the price was there.
