If you are looking for good meat, reasonably priced in a friendly atmosphere, la maison des brochettes is a good place to go in Delémont. For less than CHF 30, you can choose from a wide selection of skewers (from traditional to exotic), accompanied with French fries or rice and a small salad as a starter. Simple but tasty wines on offer. Very friendly Portuguese staff.

This place is known for open fire grilling. Everyone at my table ordered the bison lunch special. It came with a mixed salad and all you can eat fries. But the best part was the bison. It is cooked to order on a fire grill in the dining room. It was tender and delicious. Their breakfast is a typical Swiss buffet with meat, cheese, yogurt and local bread. It is typically just for the hotel guests. I hear the menu hasn't been updated in a long time, but unless you are a regular, that doesn't really matter. It is still a great menu. The service is above average for Switzerland.

When it was explained, a sand box in the middle of a parking lot, in an industrial/shopping zone, I have to admit I was a little dubious - however in fact the "Beach" is actually very cool. Polite service, calm atmosphere and cocktails. Admittedly the cocktails are premix, but you can order tapas, or even a simple meal. Prices are correct and yes, it's a bit like being on holidays but without the sea, then again Switzerland is landlocked!
