We took my wife and our grandkids for her birthday. The food came out quickly and hot. The staff was very nice and attentive. Came here years ago. They are now under new management and this place is great. Had the chicken tender platter and it was the best tenders Iâve ever tasted. Homemade chips were delicious. My wife had a salad and I sampled the homemade croutons, wow awesome. Great service as well. Iâm coming back.

We try to support local restaurants ( which are not chains) in our area. This one fits that bill. It is ok. The steak is good, coked to order , the soups are typically very good, so are their nachos. otherwise , it is your typical ok eatery . Their bar seems to get the most business ( apps and drinks are what My Place is known for ). They actually used to bring in local talent on weekends to draw a larger crowd and it worked for a while. Vintage car shows in the adjacent lots frequent here for the ease. There are other local areas with better sandwiches and deserts. If you sit anywhere near the bar entrance it is WAY TOO LOUD especially on the weekends.Thank you for your review. Our Sunday Breakfast is REALLY Popular as is our 6 for 6$ Weekday Lunch Specials & Certified Angus Beef Burgers & Steaks. We are Community Spirited. ($50,000 collected for a Handicap Accessible Van) We have a capacity of 271. We are known for our Events like Shag n Line Dancing, Class Reunions, Birthday, Graduation, Anniversary Parties, Baby Showers, Car Shows and we actually had a Wedding where our Dining-room was transformed in to a beautiful Chapel. Your compliments on our Food is appreciated. Your comment in regards to the Tavern Side being loud is something that will be addressed immediately. Our Guests refer to us as the "Cheers" of Wake Forest. It is Guests like yourself that allow us to improve what we have to offer. We are proud of our Staff & proud of our Food. Our first visit didn't leave much of an impression. The location is nice with a great view, but that's where the good part ends. The menu has Catfish, but it's not available. The Meatloaf is bland with little flavor, but the fried Chicken is good. The waiter failed to tell us about the specials or provide any bread, although we noticed other wait staff doing this. For the price you would expect better food and service.Thanks for your review of our restaurant. We appreciate the feedback as it allows us to improve when we do not meet your expectations. We were out of the catfish as we are in the midst of a seasonal menu change. Glad you enjoyed the buttermilk chicken as that is our signature item. Our new summer menu will be out this week and we hope that you will give us another try again soon.

We`ve eaten here about seven times now, and the Gatehouse has made it to regular rotation. I must blame the fried buffaloe chicken sandwich! Always a quality piece of breast meat with outstanding crunch. The nachos are good too. The wait staff is excellent and attentive. Good draft beers!

We have visited The Ale House often, but were always seated in the dining room. Recently we have been asking to be seated in the bar where the vibe is more alive and exciting. I'm a picky eater who generally finds pizza to be merely acceptable as fuel for my body. Mellow Mushroom made me a pizza fa, starting with an excellent and healthy salad. The pizza was done to perfection and according to my specifications. I'm going back there next trip to see my grandchildren. Thank you for the 5 stars!! I love Backfins Crab House the food is great, sometimes there is a waiting time to be seated but well worth the wait. There are lots of good choices on the menu but my favorite is the crab cake. Service is always good and the owners are helpful and friendly. Enjoy!

Well priced seafood for the area. Dont expect it to be ludicrously good or even fresh per se but given the location and pricing matrix I thought it was quite good. My wasabi tuna steak was cooked perfectly. Conversely my father's fried scallops were flavorless and devoid of anything besides a chewy texture.

Great local place to eat or enjoy a beer if you are in Wake Forest. My husband and I eat here weekly. Great family place but if you are solo or small group the bartenders take great care of you!
