Nothing special here. The fried pickles were too salty. The burger was huge and greasy with no real flavor. The sirloin was fine and the broccoli was terrible. We should have known better. We apologize for the meals being anything but perfect, and weâd like a chance to address this. A group of us in town for a softball tournament made Bar West our go-to place. Cold beer and great burgers in different varieties.The location was centered between our hotels from both sides of I-435. Plenty of televisions to watch the NCAA basketball tourney on.

Thanksgiving eve, went with some friends to this place to hang out, there were 15 of us, and we had no complaints whatsoever. the staff were so nice and very helpful, the beers were cold and they kept bringing them out, we played pool mainly and had lot's of nice appetizers with our drinks!There are a lot of pool tables here, some dart boards, lot's of TV's to watch sports and it's quite a large bar/ establishment to be honest, smoke-free, which was a huge plus!It was my first time here, and I will certainly come back the next time I am in the Kansas City area!

I met some friends here to watch KU. It is the perfect atmosphere for watching a basketball game. The food is your typical bar and grill food. It is good. The service was excellent. The place was packed, but our server was on top of things. The drinks were very weak. I had a margarita and there was hardly any tequila in it. My friend was drinking a Crown Royal and coke. He paid for a double shot. You could barely taste the Crown Royal. I don't know if it was because it was a Sunday or if it was because they were so busy, but the drinks were definitely not anywhere near what they should have been. I have been to other Johnny's Taverns and the drinks have never been that weak. Otherwise the day was excellent and I will be going back to watch KU play.

We went to Nick and Jakeâs for Fatherâs Day brunch and it was extremely busy. Despite that, the staff did a good job of keeping the buffet filled, refilling drinks, etc. The food selection was great and everything was delicious. My only complaint (and itâs a minor one) is that the buffet setup is a little awkward, but Iâm sure it flows better on less busy days.

This is a fun, casual pub in Western Shawnee that's becoming one of our go-to places for dinner. We've been here several times over the past few weeks and we've experienced good service with servers who seem to care, good food, a large beer selection and specials every day of the week. Thursday night is ladies night with $5 martinis and wing night. The wings were very good and come with your choice of different flavors, combine that with an interesting beer and what's not to love. There's a tv at every table, which isn't important to me, but may be entertaining to the younger ones in your family. If pinball is your thing, they have a tournament one night a week.

We decided to sit at the bar which was our first mistake. My husband order beer and after trying to order 2 different drinks that are a staple at any other bar I was told that the bartender didn't know the first one and that he had no sambuca for the second one. No problem, my next choice was o.k. After reading the specials and being ignored. Our bartender decided to have a conversation with another employee from one end of the bar to the other about his frozen balls, yes you are reading this correctly. If that wasn't off putting enough, my husband asked him to refrain from speaking about his blue balls, yes another direct quote, he told him that we do not have a choice in the matter and that his conversation wasn't really relevant to us. I proceeded to speak to the manager about this, which was our second mistake of the evening. Even though he apologized to us for the behavior of the bartender I got the feeling was being patronized and nothing will be done about this. We payed our bill and left. Conversation like this among employees has no place in a restaurant that supposedly prides its self as being a family oriented establishment. I am palled by this.Hi Sabine! Oh no! we're sorry to see this 1 star review, this is certainly not how we intend to treat our guests. We take reviews very seriously and address each one. We popped in for a quick lunch and both had burgers. Blue burger add avocado...ahhh soo good! Sweet potato fries. Hubby had Classique with regular fries. Both burgers were gone!!! Regular fries were even better than sweet potato ones! We will be back!!
