Awesome $10 steak on the mid-week special!!! Followed by a couple of games of bowling!!! I have not bowled for years, but I had a fantastic time! I managed to get a pod location indoors, which was slightly quieter and more relaxing than the chairs and tables fare in the main area...Staff were friendly and the experience was just so relaxing!

Although this is a "Members Only" Club, visitors are more than welcome. Visitors are permitted into the Club on three occasions, after which you must sign up for Membership. You can sit back and relax indoors with background music, sports TV channels, well priced drinks and a great Club atmosphere. It is adjacent to three well used Lawn Bowls Greens, and has Squash, Pool and Darts facilities along with a TAB for the punting types. The outdoor area overlooks Abbot Park, which is home to local tennis, cricket and football teams, and a community play ground. Less than 1km from the famous Scarborough Beach.

This is situated upstairs above the Ocean Bar and others on the beach front.  We managed to get a seaside seating on the verandah and watched the sunset over the Indian Ocean. This was helped along by the $6 pints on offer. They have 2 cheap beers to choose from and both are great value. Their food is also reasonably priced. View from here was amazing.

Ocean One Bar

We came for lunch on a beautiful sunny Sunday, we sat outside overlooking the stunning Indian Ocean. I didn't realise it was a cash-only bar, between us we had enough to cover our food and drinks, there is an ATM, but will charge you fees. We shared a few tapas plates which were delivered quick and the food was really nice! We had the BBQ Chicken bites, which were actual chicken tenders and delish, the sweet potato fries and Turkish break & dips were good too. A great way to end the weekend in a nice, chilled atmosphere.

The Indi bar , average when it was built and even less than average today as nothing has changed in 50 years, ok if your into that sort of thing . Staff are generally rude and too cool for school type of kids. If your an international traveller I can almost guarantee disappointment with this place. Save your time and money and go elsewhere , absolute kip Thank you for taking your time and leaving the feedback. I am sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your time at Indian Ocean Hotel and Indi Bar (I understand that you stayed at the hotel too). The hotel was built in 70's and we had some refurbishment done since the opening. We are just finishing to replace the windows in all the rooms. There are double glazed and sound proof. Our low prices reflect the fact that the hotel is older looking. We keep the hotel and bar clean and tidy. I am sorry to hear that you disagree with it. I would like to ensure that we don't employ any kids. The atmosphere at Indi Bar is relaxed, but our staff always stay professional and they are always happy to help. Once again, I am sorry hear your personal opinion about our staff members. It would be great if you could contact me directly and give me more details about your bad experience at Indian Ocean Hotel and Indi Bar. My contact email is [email protected] Kind regards,Hanna Cydejko

Food serves were so large we struggled to complete them. The waffles were very soft, fried chicken delicious. Drinks - both non and alcoholic are available here, making it a great brunch \ lunch \ dinner location.

Sunday night and most places were busy except this one. Should have rung alarm bells but it had a good write-up in previous weekend's paper. Food extremely ordinary and you ahve to order at the counter - no table service. Only thing in its favour is the view but that only works during the day.

Grill'd

We went here for lunch on a public holiday weekend. Upon entry we were advised to grab some menus and help ourselves to a table. We sat down and began reading, when we must’ve all inadvertently tuned into a very loud conversation on the next table. A staff member was discussing vegan and vegetarian with 2 male customers. That’s all fine, but it was so loud it dominated the area. Our 2 teenagers even said “like, really....We don’t need to hear your opinions guys!”We weren’t sure if we had to order at the counter or if the staff would come to us. Surely the guy would finish his convo soon and acknowledge us. Nope. So we moved tables so we could have our own conversations, ordered at the counter, had our meals delivered, and could still hear the discussion over the music. It wasn’t the topic, it was the volume and the fact that we as customers were literally ignored by this guy for near on 20mins, when we did have a couple of questions. If he was on a break or was the manager, sit down and have a proper conversation, don’t stand there like you’re supposed to be working. The burgers were nice and the meal overall represented good value for money. We’ll visit grill’d again but hope the service is a little more friendly next time.
