This is a quirky and hip burger place which provides very good food at reasonable prices. There were not a lot of tourists when we ate there but a lot of locals. We couldnât get a table outside but it was interesting to eat inside as it has some great drawings on the walls and the decoration was different from the norm.The burgers were tender and juicy and the chips were very good indeed. In some dishes the burgers do not come on buns but that didnât limit our enjoyment of them. However, if you like your burger in a bun, it is worth checking when you order. I also had lime mousse to follow which was tart and sweet at the same time. A great palate cleanser.The service was good even though they were very busy and it is also great value. A definite if you like a good burger and chips.

We arrived in Madeira on an evening flight and needed a light meal not too far from our hotel. Maltez was a real find - pleasant location on the promenade, very friendly service, good food with generous portions, and great value.We returned several times for lunchtime snacks or afternoon/evening drinks.I'm giving them a "5" rating - not for any luxury or fancy food, but because the guys running it know what they are doing and do it so well.

Went there for dinner to try the âpicadinhoâ and the âlapasâ. The space is nice, you can choose to eat inside or outside, however the parking can be tricky. The food is nice and tasty. Cheap prices. Had a caco bread (traditional bread), lapas and picadinho, three beers and couple of juices, end up paying around 25â¬. Recommended if youâre staying close by.

Its all been said already this is a great value concept menu. For 23 euros a head you choose 3 courses of an a la carte menu. The food is beautifully presented, tasty and good quality especially for the price.It includes wine, soft drinks, water and even beer.We chose the red wine which was perfectly palatable.Drinks are topped up as you wish. However i felt sorry for the owner as some British diners took this to the limit and must have drank all his profits for the evening. I'm sure he should charge more or limit the drinks a bit. Check out the pictures of the food. The camera doesn't lie this is what you get.Wishing you every success you deserve it.

Excellent light lunch today, thanks to suggestion and good reviews on TA. We stopped at this small restaurant on a lovely warm & sunny day. Selected 2 tapas dishes to share. Sardines crostini & stuffed peppers. Both delicious. Washed down with a beer. Highly recommended
