We were starving after walking up to Mam Tor and the sandwiches here didn't disappoint. I had the tuna melt (delicious) and my partner had the beef (2 huge slices, very tender) and horseradish. They were served with lots of fries and a decent salad. Very friendly staff too.

The best pints of real ale in Castleton! Great selection of ale and very well kept! Good gin selection too. The food menu had lots of choice and they have a sausage and mash pick ânâ mix too - choose your type of sausages eg pork and apple, vegetarian etc, then your mash eg cheesy, mustard etc then your gravy or sauce eg onion, peppercorn etc. you can also have it in a large Yorkshire pud! And we got homemade onion rings. The other half had steak and said it was beautiful and cooked perfectly! Really good food and even better ale! Visited several times during our stay.

My friends took me out for a special treat for my birthday today and we went to The Scotsman's Pack in Hathersage. The lunch was superb, the service was excellent and friendly. We booked for a Sunday lunch and had a fabulous meal. Good hearty pub food.There was a good range of vegetarian options, I had the nut roast and was lovely. Sausage and mash menu was good, as was childrenâs menu.

Stopped off here a couple of times while out walking from Castleton. Friendly young chap behind the bar both times. Good selection of real ale on the bar. Shared a baked Camembert infused with rosemary and garlic, which came with plenty of bread, and it was divine!!!Hello.Thank you so much for such a great review. Lovely meal in the pub. Both my daughters are vegetarian which was why I booked, the menu choice is really good for them. They both chose the vegan pie and agreed itâs the best veggie pie they have eaten so far! My roast and husbandâs kebab were very good too. Service good as well, we will return when we are visiting again. Highly recommend a visit.

Stopped here for something to eat, en route to Edale. They had a nifty "mini lunch" menu where you got two or three courses for £11 or £13 respectively .. portions come large in the Peak District so that suited me just fine and two courses was more than enough .. excellent food too. The pub is characterful and I recommend it

The place has been transformed inside and looks lovely, apart from the toilets, that haven't been done yet and are still poor. The young lady who served us was extremely pleasant and we thoroughly enjoyed our coffee and walnut cake. The sausage rolls looked amazing too!

What a fabulous place. Friendly relaxing and has it all. Stopped for breakfast. Not only great taste but perfectly cooked. Sat in a relaxed area surrounded by local art and items from local businesses. Too early to sample but a good range of hand pull ales in the bar area. A credit to the people of Bamford

We were very disappointed at our Sunday lunch on 18th August. The meat was very tough the carrots were Rock hard and potatoes were not fresh and hot like they had been kept warm.We have been for a meal previously and it was good which is why we were returning - so we were so disappointed at the lack of quality and attention to detail.We will not be returning.
