We arrived at this restaurant at 22.10 we hadn't booked there was no need to as virtually only 6 other people in there dining, when we walked in we were greeted with 'you will have to be quick as we close in an hour' there was no hello or warmth, we were quickly shown to a table and the menu was pushed under our noses with no customer service. I won't babble on too much, the food arrived in 5 mins, hovering around us to take the plates when I was still eating, Bill placed in front of me while I was still eating, food OK but will not be visiting again rushed out the door, went up the road to the raj for a drink wonderful service.Hi Susan SWe are very sorry. At New Delhi Restaurant , we aim to offer good quality food with excellent service , but it seems we did not achieve this with yourself. We can only apologies for this time . We use to live down the road from this restaurant and got takeaway weekly from there. We moved over 30 miles away but still visit regularly as we havenât found anything to match. The food is delicious, service is always welcoming and attentive. Love Monday nights which is Thali which is a bit like Indian tapas so you get to try lots of things at a reasonable cost.

Love this restaurant, love the quality and taste of the food. Service sometimes a little slow.The only thing that is a little discerning is that where as we use to go every couple of weeks it's got very expensive and I hope that this isn't going to be their downfall.

First class, welcome every customer with open arms. Tonight Wednesday we arrived to a very packet restaurant thought it wouldn't be busy due to the fact it's Valentine's day tomorrow. We had our first dining experience at Desi last evening, welcomed by very friendly staff, service was perfect, not rushed at all, good atmosphere, food was excellent, quite packed considering it was mid week, which speaks volumes. Would definitely go back, another little gem in Thurrocks crown.P.S. One for the ladies, I always think you can tell a lot by the cleanliness of the toilets, and they were top draw.
