The service and the atmosphere were good, but the food was a real let down. We ordered from the âspecialsâ, going for a supposedly hot dish, and even asked to confirm that it would be spicy as we like a bit of heat. The curry had no heat at all, and no flavour, just over cooked meat and lots of grease. We wonât be returning. There are much better options for curry in Newbury.

The food was delicious and diverse. The service was impeccable and fast, although the place was full. I loved it!

Yes the takeaway is very nice and prompt service. Very busy so I advice you to order on the phone.A little piece of advise is to order the takeaway from the restaurant next door, a much better quality and great service. Advice you to have a nice Chinese beer and prawn crackers will you wait

Have always loved this restaurant. Staff are always friendly, polite and give great service. The food is great and you always get a lot for your money. Upstairs and downstairs seating area, so plenty of space. The only problem is the toilet is upstairs so if you're disabled this may cause an issue.

My wife and I have been customers here for about four years now. I have found it a pretty well run take away... until today. It has been a cold, wet night so as it was a Saturday, it made sense to ring our order through and collect when ready as we often do. Yet the phone was constantly, seemingly engaged. In the end, having tried about 20 times, I decided I'd have to go in the rain, order, and probably come back when it was ready. On arrival, the shop had far more people than normal inside. When I got inside, all was revealed: there were two young female staff inside and the telephone had been taken OFF the hook! When I got to the counter, I asked if there was a problem with the phone. The server sheepishly said "oh, a lot of calls were coming in and it was getting really busy!"....yes, that's what happens on a Saturday night! If this was an Apprentice candidate, she'd have been fired by Alan Sugar before even getting near the boardroom. I cannot understand for the life of me why any business would be happy to lose trade by such shambolic practices. On my resentful return, I collected the order from the other member of staff who just handed it to me. No word of thanks. The naan breads had also been omitted. What was galling on my return was that the telephone receiver had been replaced and was (slowly) being answered.Farewell Bengal Spice. I have no idea why your standards have fallen so low but I won't be returning anymore.

Really good takeaway food, the best we have had for a long time. Free poppadoms and sauces, a spicy lamb jalfrezi and a delicious house special masala with chicken and minced lamb, light and not greasy pilau rice, friendly staff. Perfect. We travel around the uk and always search for a good takeaway, this is one of the best yet.

2 of us visited for lunch on Monday. As we walked in, we were warmly greeted & looked after superbly throughout. Prices are exceptionally reasonable for both food & drinks. The food was absolutely delicious - every dish we sampled was faultless: sesame prawn toast, salt & pepper squid, grilled dumplings to start; followed by noodles with wonderful crunchy vegetables & stir fried beef with ginger & spring onion for main courses. This little restaurant is a MUST for anyone loving Asian food - highly recommended! We canât wait to visit again soon.

We thought this was closed and nearly walked past due to being very dimly lit (now wish we had). We were greeted by very friendly staff and quickly shown to a table. We all ordered drinks and settled on the mixed Asian/Thai set menu for 5. Lots and lots of garnish on the dishes presented, but little substance. The crispy duck was OK but very dry, and the over use of salt on all the dishes left us feeling very thirsty ! uum! more drinks? Crispy beef was all salty batter, Ribs were awful very dry, overcooked and tough. We all became quite aware of the 'PUSH' by staff to increase drink sales. every two minutes we were asked by one member of staff or another for more drinks! No thanks - we were hungry and we were fed - but it was over-priced, poor standard food, poorly cooked, and not a very pleasant experience. Music playing was a loud dreadful mix of semi popular cover songs. The staff didn't even wish us a good evening as we left, it was all about getting you in through the door, cutting corners on the food, and pushing drinks. Give this place a miss, we would have done better at the mobile burger van outside.

We dropped in as the place was really busy and it was a Wednesday evening, fortunately we managed to get a table, usual beer selections plus a Nepalese beer all nice to wash down the obligatory poppadoms etc. The main man was a character and full of joy, with a good sense of humour, good advice on choices, and pleasant to deal with, this makes a real difference in these places. Will definitely go back next time in Newbury
