Jade Bistro

Jade Bistro is an elegant, yet affordable dining spot offering interesting asian cuisine, including sushi and Thai dishes, along with more common chinese fare. I had really tasty seaweed salad and the sizzling chicken thai platter. My dining companion had the chicken teriyaki. We split an order of dumplings, which I thought were great. I wasn't allowed to taste the spring roll, which reportedly is the best ever. All in all, a nice meal at a fair price. The restaurant seemed to be hosting a lot of parties while we were there, attesting to the appropriateness of the place for special occasions.

Zen

Reviewed By Von1287

They are so centrally located to Proctors which is a huge deal on show nights which was why we were there. We couldn’t really get into the places we wanted to at that time so we settled for Zen. First, my water glass was filthy which is becoming a trend in restaurants these days. The waitress acted like I was lying when I asked for a new one and inspected the glass thoroughly. We ordered sesame chicken, Thai basil fried rice, shrimp and asparagus dish, and a Philadelphia roll. The sesame chicken was way too sweet, the thai basil rice was bland and the shrimp was so over cooked and chewy. The asparagus dish was watery and shrimp were chewy. The sushi was clearly not freshly rolled since it came out in milliseconds and in fact it tasted like store bought crap sushi. I have season tickets to Proctors this year and won’t be going back here for sure.

Jasmine Thai Restaurant

Welcoming atmosphere, fresh iced tea, lovely décor. I ordered the sweet and sour stir fry. The description said that it was supposed to come in a pineapple bowl, which it did not but it didn't matter because it was delicious. Enjoyable pot stickers too. Loved the light soy sauce the pot stickers were swimming in. They also were very good about not including any oyster or fish sauce in the preparation of my dishes because I am allergic. My dining companion had shrimp tempura and shrimp skewers. She ate every bit of it and loved every minute. Reasonable prices.

Pho Queen

Reviewed By Philroy2014

I go out to dinner alot and I thought I've been to every good restaurant in downtown Schenectady. I was mistaken. Pho Queen is special. This is a small cozy restaurant with about 10-12 tables. We were greeted by the owner who was very accommodating while answering all of our questions. .Table settings and dining area are very nice. Every dish we had was terrific. Nice variety of duck, the soups were large and some came with a nice kick to it. If you are looking for a change of pace, add this to your dining rotation.
