Late lunch with the family at Vong, first time after having wanted to dine here for quite a while.Seated indoors, as it was just to hot to sit outside, we were shown to our table under a steadily leaking airconditioning unit. Our waitress explained a little about the restaurant concept but didn’t go into great depth about the various portions available, just answered “yes I like that” from time to time.In short.Firstly get the a/c fixed. Not everyone is willing to eat at a restaurant dripping A/C water into your plates. Most of the first courses were very tasty and quite unique. The fresh salad was disappointing and the Tofu soup boring.Main wok courses were good but nothing surprising. Desserts are overpriced and just not worth ordering. It’s my personal opinion that under the guidance of a better waiter, we may have had a much better meal at Vong. Service in general left much to be desired as we found ourselves searching for service for napkins and dishes were not cleared from the table a long time after we had finished the main course.Price wise, expensive for what we had. Again, had we been introduced to possibly better courses, these may had been worth the price. For a little more, you can eat at another Vietnamese kitchen restaurant in Tel Aviv that will leave you begging for more and not waiting to leave.I would return to possibly try to correct this poor impression of what may be a good restaurant

this is part of an excellent Asian food chain, a little like Wagamama in the UK. Food is always good and today was a very crowded day. This didn't undermine the good service. I usually go for the excellent Philipine noodle dish. The Pavlova desert or the best ever, so is the Prefiteroll. Excellent place for a family lunch or dinner

As someone who has visited many chef Israeli chef restaurants, this has been the absolute worst experience I've had by far. I would equate it to the El Al of chef restaurants.I decided to wait a day before writing this review so I could write a more balanced review of my experience. My rating is based solely on my time there and not the food since I never actually had the pleasure of eating. This is a restaurant serving tapas style dishes. My carnivore husband ordered exclusively meat/fish dishes while I ordered vegetarian. As I ordered my meal, I had enquired about the ingredients of the dishes due to my dietary restriction. The waiter assured me that the dishes I ordered contained no meat. My husband's first dish came out. Not a big deal...not everything can be ready exactly at the same time. When the next dish came out, my husband asked our waiter for the status of my meal. The waiter replied that not everything is ready at the same time, but he'll bring them as soon as they're out. Then my husband's third dish came out. We asked the waitress who brought the food where mine was; she said that she'd check. Eventually my husband had finished 3 dishes, and I still hadn't received my first one. We called over our waiter. When we spoke to him, he said he didn't realize that I was vegetarian, and he had been intentionally waiting to put my order in. (I would have thought my upfront disclaimer while ordering and my multiple enquiries would have made it clear that I was waiting for my meal. Also if he would have stopped by even once to ask how we were enjoying the food, he would have understood we were unhappy. The time to ask a customer about their satisfaction is after the food has been served- not after they are done eating. He never actually did ask...I'm just giving the benefit of the doubt that he would have asked at some point.) The waiter was unapologetic and seemed to have any attitude that we should just deal with it. According to our parking ticket, we were in the restaurant for approximately 1 hour (which I view as exceptionally lonn to wait for a first dish). On my way out, I spoke with the floor manager who apologized. He said he would contact me later to "make it up to me." If that does happen, I will update this post.To speak a little on the food (from my husband's point of view), the food was nice but a poor value for money. To be fair, if you don't normally go to chef restaurants you will probably be impressed because it's nicer than a cafe. But why should you settle for subpar service and just nice food with a fancy presentation? You could do so much better.
