My wife and I Were in Bozeman on holiday late October. We had craving for some Japanese cuisine and thought to give Wasabi Japanese Steakhouse a try. The approach to the restaurant is by a shopping centre, easy to find. Upon our entry to the restaurant the host seemed indifferent to our walking in, after a silent pause he walked us to a table and seated us. A review of the menu looked promising, however, viewing other tables meal items being served made it clear this was not anything like I had in Kyoto. We accepted were were in Bozeman and ordered accordingly. There was a clear feeling of tension within the restaurant staff that made our dining here feel more like an imposition than a nice dining experience. The items were ordered came in a timely manner. Nothing stellar, not bad Though. I am guessing we just came on an "off day" for the restaurant. That said, when we return to Bozeman, Wasabi Japanese Steakhouse most likely, Will not be a first choice for Japanese cuisine.

We had heard great things about the original Sweet Chili restaurant in Bozeman but decided to try their "new" (about 1 1/2 years old in June 2016) fast-service spot, which is FAR more casual and cheaper. Our reaction: Pretty good, and a good value, and the decor with Chinese parasols on the ceiling and a Chinese street scene "mural" on one wall is charming, but it would do better by raising the bar a bit on its brand.I'd suggest:* Do away with the pre-cooked food in trays -- it looks like the food in the prepared food section of a mid-level grocery store or one of those Chinese places in shopping center food malls. If you're going to pre-cook the food, at least hide the prepared dishes from your customers.* Add some Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese beer. The smoothies and such are fine, but Asian food needs beer.* Simplify the menu -- it's too confusing.* Do away with the "fake Chinese" dishes and go with more authentic Thai and other dishes.

Watanabe

This is a small Japanese restaurant on west Main street in Bozeman. The food, service, and atmosphere are great, I have eaten here many times and always left happy. I think the sushi is much better than the other touted sushi restaurant in Bozeman.

Having just recently returned from Japan, our criteria for great Udon was pretty high. Come to find out Watanabe serves fantastic and authentic Udon, right here in Bozeman! It is expensive ( but it is Bozeman), love the atmosphere ,great service, a cup of steaming hot green tea, and excellent Tempura. We ended up going 3 more times in the next 2 weeks. It is now a regular spot for us. Mochi Ice Cream is divine! Go, enjoy a steaming bowl of beef Udon or pork ramen on a cold day and relax!

The Naked Noodle has been a staple for us for a long time but lately it seems to be loosing it on many levels. I hate to write negative revues but I've been convinced to write the bad with the good and the rational is sensible, I sure wouldn't want someone else to experience the meal we had the other night. My go to meal there is the "Singapore Stinger" with Korean Barbecue beef. Also the Tuna Salad with two Tuna slabs.3 meals back I had the tuna salad and ,no kidding, the tuna was still frozen in the middle! YUCK!!I called the place the next day to tell them and was told there was a new manager so come in and see him. We did and that meal was good, like the old days. (There's Hope!).Next time in I ordered the "Singapore Stinger" with Korean Barbecue beef, meat was boot tough and inedible IMO. I was literally afraid of breaking a tooth on it. Didn't finish my meal. Also, the music was unbearably loud and obviously picked by the help to their tastes. The volume of the music should be an enhancement to the dining experience, not an endurance test of your audio pain threshold. Anyone can have a bad night so after a few months and as much as we use to like the place we decided to try it again. It was a dead solid duplicate of the time before that. Incredibly tough beef, (again, inedible)! Painfully loud music obviously being played by and for the help and to heck with the customers. The new manager must be gone and the cooks must be training themselves! There are way to many good eatery's in Bozeman to waste my money at a joint that obviously cares less about quality and consistency in the food served. I have cooked in restaurants and I'd have been embarrassed to serve anyone one of the last two meals I've had there. By that I absolutely mean "THE LAST" two meals I've had there!!!Doug, I'm very disturbed by your past few experiences. This is definitely not our standard nor what you should come to expect at NN. I personally taste our Bulgogi on a regular basis and i'm never disappointed by any toughness of the meat. The Tuna mistake is something we wrestle with and something we have no excuse for. With the music, this is not fair to you. We just installed a new Sonos system at the noodle and the staff has trying it out like a shiny new bike, but i have put my foot down on parameters of volume and playlists so it does go back to a Background music level. on all fronts though i do apologize. Having a loyal customer like yourself experience things from bad to worse is stuff that really disappoints us and i'm sorry you had those experiences. if you'd like, we'd prefer to make it up to you in a way that is acceptable to you if you'd let us try. Please email your contact info so we can communicate outside of this post. kind regards, Joe [email protected]

During Labor Day weekend we stopped at Rice for dinner. It was quiet, but the service was great. I ordered the Pad Priew Wan, (pork) and my partner ordered the Pad Priew Wan, (chicken). We also ordered chrispy rolls for an appetizer. The wait time was very short and the food delicious. It is one of my favorite places to eat in Bozeman, right downtown. I have eaten here several times in the past while visiting Bozeman and have always had a terrific meal. The building is smallish and somewhat non-descript, but worth checking out. Great Tai food at reasonable prices.

The spicy bibimbap was delightful, and I will definitely be going back again in the near future.

Dave’s is an excellent sushi restaurant. Their rolls are high quality and very tasty. They have some very good, creative combinations that I haven’t seen elsewhere. Numerous seating options, all with pleasant atmosphere. Friendly and efficient waitstaff. Overall, Dave’s rivals some of the best sushi I’ve had in much larger coastal cities; not necessarily the fanciest restaurant , but definitely one of the best for quality and flavor.

The outside doesn't look like much, but the inside is cozy & the food is delicious! We've had the Yaki Mandu (chicken dumplings), Kim-Chi pancakes, sweet potato noodles with veggies/chicken, & the Man-Du-Guk soup. There is a pretty wide variety of menu options that could be catered to different dietary needs as well. We have never been disappointed with the food & the prices are very reasonable. You just need to ask for a spicy sauce as it doesn't come with the food automatically.
