We've been searching for a decent Chinese option outside of the city since we moved to Lyon 3.5 years ago, and we finally found it! Le grand Peking was a great experience for our family of 5 (3 kids under 9). They offer you a dinner buffet price of 22⬠for adults and 10⬠for kids, and they have really good customer service. Amaaaazing, great small place with limited menu (wich shows all is made fresh) of Asian tapas. We truly enjoyed it, great food and very friendly service. The vongole were amazing (we ordered an extra plate instead of dessert, which says enough). A must visit!

So best to ask before ordering. We did the usual of ordering starters and main course, but the "starter" was so copious that we had to ask for a doggie bag. Anyway, this resto is very popular, and we just squeezed in on a Saturday night. Very friendly service.

Uncharacteristically leaving our restaurant bookings to the last minute my husband and I were very disappointed that we were not able to secure a reservation for lunch at one of Lyon's classic bouchons. However, our disappointment quickly disappeared when we went to La Bijouterie. Coming from Vancouver we are very familiar with modern Chinese cuisine. We just did not expect to find it in Lyon. The dim sum style food at La Bijouterie was delicious and the young and enthusiastic staff-- both kitchen and front of house--were excellent. If you want a change from French cooking while in France this restaurant is the place to go.
