Ate here 2 times due to weather was too bad to walk. The staff is very friendly as there is almost no on in there.The food was good and presented nicely. But was overpriced for what you got, the Tsingtao (local beer) was like $8 0r 9 US.Found a place close to hotel to cover for bad weather days going forward.Thank you for your review of Crystal Bar & Kitchen. Glad that you enjoyed the quality of food and friendly service. Hope you had the chance to try our super popular 21 days dry-aged steaks cooked on charcoal. Fair sized room with a pool table and some big screens. Money maker in a big hotel you'd say.. unfortunately not.First of all the general impression is determined by a playlist of mainly Chinese dance/pop which is played at a volume that makes a conversation a bit of a challenge. This is occasionally replaced by two girls singing along some karaoke material from their laptops. For which of course the volume is cranked up even further.Menu itself isn't bad but execution is. The whole concept of a starter served before a main course seems alien to the staff working there. I've also had potato wedges that were seriously over salted. Salad drowning in dressing.. Burgers are ok despite seeming to be freshly made. A good burger isn't much more work.Staff has no idea whatsoever about beer. They don't know anything about what they sell and don't even know how to serve beer or what glass to use for what beer. Any competent food and beverage manager could turn this into a hangout where most of the foreigners end up by1. changing the music2. training the staff on the drinks they sell3. make the section near the window the smoking section and the one near the bar non smoking4. get a schedule for matches and post it on a board near the entrance. Talk with the front desk and adapt this to nationalities in the hotel. 5. get a weekly special in food and drink (cheese burger and heineken for 149 for example)6. do some staff training!!
