We try to get to Chefs about once a month to have a pizza and salad. My husband loved the meatball pizza here. And I love the chefs salad.I haven't had anything on the menu that isn't good. Do yourself a favor and go to Chefs.

Cracker Barrel

Reviewed By tntwosome2013

My husband & I were very disappointed in this cracker barrel. We stopped here for a late lunch after visiting the Biltmore House. I was looking forward to their hot biscuits & they arrived barely warm & hard. I asked for some fresh ones & the waitress brought more & apologized that they were not fresher. I ordered the country fried chicken & it was not hot, barely warm - VERY DISAPPOINTED in our visit. Won't be back.

While looking for somethingdifferent for lunch, we decidedto check out Pratt's. Our server was Marlena and she was greatsuper friendly. My husband got the burger w/ barn chips. I got a vegetable plate with mac and cheese, corn, mashed potatoes and smokehouse beans. Everything was delicious especially the beans. The portions are super generous. Plus they give you these wonderful corn muffins. Can't believe we waited so long to try this place. We will definitely be going back.

The Mustard Seed

This is one of my favorite places to eat lunch when I am in Kingsport, TN. The quiche is delicious. I really enjoy the homemade salad dressings, the strawberry poppyseed was delicious today! I saved my points all week for a piece of coconut cake, which is my favorite. What a disappointment! It has a chemical/preservative taste, and a bitter aftertaste. And the icing is like eating refrigerated lard...that could be subjective since I don’t like regular icing! Coke should have never changed their recipe and The Mustard Seed should not have changed theirs either! Please bring back the OG coconut cake!!

Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen

Chicken in the chicken sandwich was properly cooked, moist, and tender; bacon well-cooked but still tender; lettuce and tomato fresh. The veggie plate offered very generous portions of four options, all properly prepared to be appetizing. Prices for quantity and quality is very reasonable. Jessie was friendly, humorous, and attentive, providing efficient and timely service. We enjoyed our experience. The high noise level, typical of Chedders' locations, seems excessive, explained partially by the dominance of hard surfaces that compose the interior. This is sometimes our reason for choosing other venues for a meal.

This place is totally informal with outstanding barbeque. I would say it was a hidden gem but the place was packed -- lots of people agree that the barbeque is outstanding. We ordered the pulled pork sandwiches -- even the sides (baked beans, homemade chips, fries) are really good. Highly recommend. They need a bigger parking lot in addition to lots more tables.

I visited the Chop House in Lexington a long time ago, and didn't find it that great, but after my visit on a road trip to this one in Kingsport, I am going to give my local one another shot. There don't seem to be a huge amount of choices for places to eat in Kingsport, so if you are looking for the best place in town...this is probably the place. I couldn't believe that they were almost fully packed on a Monday night. I was traveling alone so went and sat at the bar. It is a very dimly lit place (for atmosphere), so if you have trouble seeing, you may need to use a light on your phone.Charlie the bartender was so nice, at the end, he shook my hand...and I really liked that. Too many people today don't know how to give a good handshake or are afraid to give a handshake to a woman. It was a welcome gesture goodbye! Anyway, other than that, he was friendly without being pushy and is an excellent host.I had the small filet, mashed potatoes and burgundy mushrooms. I tend to like my food a bit over-seasoned, but nothing was needed, except I did add some pepper to my potatoes. No salt at all needed, and my steak was cooked perfectly. It was an enjoyable experience and it has inspired me to go back and try my local Chop House! We are so glad you had a favorable dining experience at The Chop House! Thank you for your loyalty. If there is ever anything we can do to ensure you have a 5-star dining experience, don't hesitate to ask.

For me this is one of the best barbecue restaurants in the Southeast. The Que is always excellent and every side and dessert that I have tried has been very good. The staff are friendly and helpful and the Que is plentiful... It would be difficult to eat lite at Phil's. It is worth a stop. Just a mile or so off I-81.

We had not been here in quite awhile and so glad that we went back today! They have added several craft beer taps which thrilled us. The Sunday menu had some killer offerings. The potato cakes are fabulous and a must try. I haven’t had any this good since the last time I made some and I think I like theirs better! My better half got the salmon burger and said it was delightful. According to the server this is a Sunday only item:) I got the burger and cheese grits and OMG it was stellar! The service was good and the view spectacular. Did I mention they now have 16 taps?? :)Thank you for leaving us such a detailed and wonderful review! We are so proud to know you and your guest had a wonderful time with our delicious Potato Cake, Salmon Burger, and Burger and Cheese Grits.
