It is the capital of the Cherkasy Oblast (province), as well as the administrative center of the surrounding Cherkasky Raion (district) within the oblast. The city itself is also designated as its own separate raion within the oblast. It is not to be confused with the Russian city of Cherkassk which is on the Don River to the east.

The Manhattan is a nice restuarant with a large menu of international cuisine. However, you should speak and or read Ukrainian or Russian as no one there speaks English. Also be aware its a bit pricey by Cherkasy standards. So don't expect to eat cheap. Finally, its located in a new shopping mall with several western stores and shops.

I've been many times and I always eat the same thing - beer and chicken wings, lots of chicken wings. They are the best ever! Nice atmosphere. Lively. Lots of cool people. I always meet new people here. Good music. They have various special events and a big terrace for the summer months.

First visit bad. Second visit better. Still, their "beef" is average. They need good Canadian or US beef for a good hamburger.Service good, friendly environment, not rushed! I'll be happy to return. The menu has more than burgers!!!
