We came for lunch with friends after visiting the rather impressive Konopiste castle. The decor is similar to the inside of the castle, with many trophy animals on the walls. The service was efficient and polite, with some English spoken. The food was good, especially the duck dish. Salads were fresh and tasty. We enjoyed it.
They have an interesting player piano, which can be played for 20 Kc.

We went here several times during the last few years, and it was always perfect.
There is a nice cafeteria - sweet shop in front, and restaurant and garden in the courtyard. The meals were always very good, nice and tasty. The atmosphere is like in a family friends place - don't expect a fine dining or "haute cuisine" , but a very very good meal.
We like to stop there every time when we go to the South of Bohemia or for holidays to Austria. If you like sweets try their gorgeous "Kremsnita"

Restaurant Grosso is stylish, fully sounded and air-conditioned restaurant with the capacity up to 150 seats. Even 180 seats when including the outside patio during the summer. Grosso is specialized on Italian cuisine. We produce our own home-made pasta. And afterwards home-made pastries. Before we bake the pizzas on oak wood in the pizza oven, our cooks prepare the dough in right front of our guests. The menu is completed by selected specialities from the world cuisines and large amount of fresh salads.

Chutná jídla i pizza. Příjemné posezení, včetně milé obsluhy. Rozumné ceny a dobrá čipová Plzeň.
Doporučuji. Navštívil jsem nesčetněkrát.

Nice place, we arrived to an empty dining room on 2 January. Nice of them to lay on a private service! Standard lunch menu on offer, I plumped for the goulash, which was good but the accompanying dumplings were not fantastic. Svijany beer was a welcome addition. Ask at the bar for the key to the toilet!

During a recent holiday in the region, we stopped a few times at this restaurant for lunch and were not dissapointed.
The quality and selection of meals on the daily set lunch menus was quite competitive and in line with what I've seen in many other areas of the country and the prices were more than fair.
The service was decent and I overheard at least a couple of the serving staff speaking quite acceptable English to other customers. The food arrived in timely fasion and was all well prepared.
Given it's central location in the city, having an outdoor Terrace with a nice view of the main square and being only a few doors away from the city tourist information office; there's really not much reason to not give this place a try.

Stopped there on a sunday on the way to Konopiste castle , the restaurant is situated on the main square, Typical czech restaurant, fast service, reasonable prices. Do not expect a miracle, but the food is good ( pepper steak or svickova -tenderloin ) and the waiter was very kind.

Visited this place with my family for lunch, following the castle tour. The staff was attentive and service was quick. They serve classic Czech food, one would expect more "local twist" at the castle.
There was a big tourist group entering the restaurant shortly after we got in, the staff was able to deal with the extra work.
