From canal-laced, fairy-tale cities like Bruges and Ghent to the urban centers of Antwerp and Brussels, Belgium sits at the crossroads of medieval and modern Europe. The chance to sample famous exports such as chocolate and beer straight from the source only sweetens a visit.

We recently stayed here as it was close to a nearby venue we were attending for an event. We stayed in a family room which had 2 floors with the children upstairs and the adults downstairs. The bathroom was beautiful with a sunken bath which was soooo relaxing! Would have been nice to have some way of hanging the shower head up so that I could have a shower too but I must admit I enjoyed having a relaxing bath for a change. Tv in the downstairs section of the room. The king size bed was very comfortable. There were coffee pods to take to the downstairs coffee machine if you so desired. There's a hairdryer in the bathroom and a nice big sink with his and hers sides. I also noticed downstairs a sauna and hot tub although they weren't in use when we stayed but would be great if they were. The only downside to our stay was the temperature in the room. I'm always hot but it was exceptionally hot in the children's section upstairs and pretty warm in ours too (even my husband commented and he doesn't mind the heat normally). We had all the windows open bit it made little difference. Breakfast was fantastic. My children are very fussy and they both really enjoyed it. A great continental selection which set us up for the day. We will most likely be back again next year and enjoyed our stay.

In a peaceful setting, not far from Charleroi, Namur, Philippeville, Dinant or France, lies the Laneffe fortified farm. This property, which is still a working agricultural holding, has been converted and transformed to provide gîtes and guest rooms at the very heart of the farm. The building also has three rooms that are available when organising banquets for private functions (weddings, communions, birthdays, anniversaries, etc.) and professional events (corporate meetings, business meals, etc.). The Laneffe fortified farm organises team-building days for companies.
Worst experience ever, on top of it on Christmas Eve. We booked our room far in advance to spend Christmas with our family in Belgium, and had to pay in advance which we did with no problem . When we booked we asked if it was OK to bring our dog (a Bobtail) and explained that it was a big dog that has been in Hotels and Restaurants since he was a puppy, and the owner Mrs Danielle said no problem, she has a dog herself and loves animals. When we arrived, the place was closed, we patiently waited for a long time, even if there was a sign stating that it was already supposed to be open, so after a long wait I decide to call the number of Mrs Danielle, there where already 3 families to check in. When she arrived, with out saying hello, she said THE DOG CAN’T COME IN… so my family and I where very surprised, everything was pre agreed, pre arranged and pre paid… After a “trying to be” constructive dialog, she said she wouldn’t give us back our more than 500 EUR prepayment but we could stay with out our dog (family) but she could put him in a cage… outrageous for any animal lovers out there. So, the only thing I can recommend, is never go there, she agrees to take your money but actually hates animals.

My wife and I were lucky enough to find this little gem at the last minute. Location was perfect as we were visiting for the Spa Classic 6 hour race which was just 10 minutes away. Things we loved: The welcome, the room, the bar, the snug, the breakfast, the dogs - gorgeous, Frank's cheese and meat platter he knocked up for us on our first night and the setting. Dislikes: Absolutely none. Suggestions: A double bed in the suite (room 3) rather than two singles pushed together - A bit tricky as they kept coming apart ! Although I understand the flexibility of twins may suit some guests. Some sort of in room entertainment - A radio perhaps ? Our stay was perfect and we have nothing but fond memories. We look forward to returning next year.

Childfriendly B&B on 5 km of Ostend city and the coast of Flanders. On this active farm, children can play while the parents are at their ease. In the morning you enjoy a delicious breakfast made by the owner herself.
Just had a really nice stay at Hof Ten Hullenhove. It is an active working farm, where it is possible to experience some of the daily tasks of the farm (cows and pigs), play with kittens, enjoy the garden or relax in the well equipped common room. Really great for kids. Good location for visiting sights in the area, the beach or other farms that sell local produce. Very friendly hosts and good breakfast.

Discover the many delights of the Condroz region, near the Ardennes. La Ferme Croquette is located in the friendly village of Evrehailles, to 8 kilometres from Dinant. And it's a typical farm of the area and was built to the16th century with local stones around a central courtyard 25x25 m including parking. The gite 10-12 people is in the east part, long time ago it was the main building of the farm. It's perfect for a holiday with the whole family or with couples of friends. The home is particularly suited for families with children. You can enjoy our garden with a playground, bikes, trampoline, Ping-Pong table, swing, slide and a lot of other surprises. And you can also care of our animals, horses, rabbit and fish. Finally, we provide all the facilities for babies, high chairs, cutlery, plates, bath, changing table, crib, strollers, adapters for the toilet and closed park.We live at the farm ourselves, so a warm-hearted welcome and supply of information is assured.
