Kitchen Sink Food & Drink

We enjoyed a meal with friends at this restaurant; menu had some unusual items that you don't see such as kreplach. Menu is seasonal. We tried the kreplach, charred broccoli, eggplant & burrata, grandma's brisket grilled cheese. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Portions are somewhat small. Make a reservation, this place fills up as soon as they open. Quality food prepared very well. Would go back.

Stopped by here while biking through Beacon, and had a coffee and a bite to eat. The cookie I had was pretty good, although the coffee seemed rather average. There are many vegan and gluten-free options (I think most/all items are gluten-free), for those on restricted diets. Would definitely stop by again if in the area.

Glazed Over Donuts

Reviewed By Justin W - Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey

Glazed Over Doughnuts are freshly made doughnuts that are made on the spot and then you order your toppings to personalize it. The doughnuts are delicious, warm and have almost a malted flavor to it. The owner was explaining to me that he might want to turn it into a chain.

My doughnut was fresh out of the fryer with a topping of glaze, fruity pebbles and vanilla icing. It was all so good to bite into. It was flavorful and just the right amount of sweetness. These are more cake doughnuts than the yeast ones you will see at more bakeries. It is more like a cruller.

I have no idea how we ended up here but coffee was ok and the beer that they had was just ok as well. Another yuppie venue catering to the city folk that are destroying this town. The staff was nice but slow.

Max's on Main

Reviewed By psr707070 - Michigan City, Indiana

Max's is a comfortable bar and restaurant that serves good, tasty American style food. Our lunch included the reuben sandwich, steak sandwich and sliced Turkey on marble bread. Each came with a generous portion of steak fries, pickle and cole slaw. The portion were large and the service was very good. Unfortunately, the meat on the steak sandwich was cut too thick and made it kind of chewy. No problem, said the manager/owner, who promptly took out that dish from our bill. We were very pleasantly surprised by the gesture. We will definitely be returning to Max's to try more dishes in the future.

Homespun Foods

Reviewed By ShazzG - New York

Can I tell you how much I enjoyed Homespun Foods? It's such a quaint place. As soon as you walk in there are menus on the wall, tables in the front and back as well as an outdoor seating area that is really quite tranquil. See my picture. Self seating after you order and quite the extensive menu. Black bean burger was really good. My daughter had the quiche and my mom doesn't like the chipotle mayo or provolone so we just tailor made it for her. Everything was REALLY delicious. I wish we had room for dessert, because that looked really good too. You can always tell how well a place does or how good their food is, if they're busy. We were there at 2:00 in the afternoon and it was quite busy. Don't miss this. Everything is made to order and so delicious.

Royal Crepes

Reviewed By ThePBR - NE USA

We were visiting the area and pleased to discover Royal Crepes. Staff is friendly, prompt and helpful (& willing to modify the made-to-order crepes). We came for lunch end returned again for dinner!
For lunch we had the salmon with feta cheese and a wonderful roasted red pepper & eggplant spread crepe topped with a fried egg (SO good!) served with small side of greens. We also enjoyed a lovely lemon crepe and Turkish coffee.
Several hours later, we returned and enjoyed a mozzarella & roasted red pepper crepe and a fantastic berry (we added chocolate) crepe.
Perfectly made, gorgeously presented, tasty, I can't say enough.
Royal Crepes also has a little market where we purchased that yummy roasted red pepper & eggplant spread, as well as European cookies and treats.
I know I shall return to Royal Crepes when I am in the area.

There's a lot to choose from. The menu has to be at least 10 pages long, so you definitely can find something to eat, even if you're picky.

We got paninis as it was lunch and we wanted something like. They were fresh and flavorful.

There were a good many dessert options as well, that all looked amazing! No room, though!
