Visited Gasthof Zum Mohren while staying overnight awaiting a flight from nearby Allagau Airport.The cosy warm atmosphere in an already full restaurant was the first thing that impressed me. Had to wait a short while to secure a table but although very busy the service was friendly and efficient. The menu both in English and German was definitely well thought out and very reasonably priced. I would suggest that you consult both menues when selecting your meal as the German one is changed frequently.The food when it arrived was superbly presented and it tasted beautifully. The desserts though mainly icecream based were wonderful. It was a wonderful meal and the snow gently falling outside really added to the Christmassy atmosphere. I discovered Gasthof Zum Mohren by accident and am I glad I did. A wonderful place to eat in and a wonderful place to stay in. Definitely on my list for when I am again in this part of Germany.

Is a very nice venue, and is perfect to have lunch or dinners with a group of people (minimum 6, max 20) because they are very good on that. Beer made by them - just great.It makes us happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay in Ottobeuren so good. Yes, we like to cook for groups and family celebrations up to 200 people. Enjoy classical German, or better Swabian, food served in a traditional environment. The quality of the meals is always excellent and the restaurant is an absolut haunt for locals. Living there, I visit it at least once a month! Do not forget to get a reservation because sometimes even on a weekday the restaurant is full! So if your planning your holiday in Ottobeuren - go check it out!

The menu has great variety. I chose to have wine with my meal - the selections available were good but not extensive. The quality excellent. They specialize in grilled meat so I ordered a small beef steak medium rare. It was perfectly cooked and delicious.There seem to be multiple layers of service - those that seat you, those that take your order and those that deliver the meal. There was, for me, no one to take a desert order or to provid a check. I could be sitting there still had I not gotten up send left the table giving my room number to the gentleman at the desk. The young man who had delivered my food wad now occupied with sorting silver and setting tables for breakfast
