We visited here during a trip to Salzburg. We wanted high end cuisine for a special occasion, and an attractive venue. This location ticked these boxes.The restaurant and casino are located in Schloss Klessheim, a grand manor house and attractive gardens. We were there for the surroundings and restaurant, not the gambling, but you can do this too.We were seated in a comfortable corner table in the attractive dining room. We started with some good champagne and amuse bouche of smoked ham. For starters we had the duck comsomme and fish carpaccio, both excellent and well presented, excepting a slight liquid spill (not cleaned up) from the soup plate - a minor complaint, but not what is expected in a venue like this.For mains we had the steak and duck dishes. The duck was excellent and served with calvados sauce and apples. The steak was good although slightly overcooked, as it came out medium, not med-rare as requested.Desserts of coffee parfait and hazelnut were very good although placed on the table without explanation as to what they consisted of. Again, a minor complaint, but not what is expected here.The wine list is good and extensive. We had a bottle of St Emillion. We would return, the servers are friendly and pleasant. Reasonably priced, nice selection. Pizza was delicious as was pasta dish and assorted fish dish. Obviously popular as was very busy and not just with tourists.They only accept Eurocards so make sure you have sufficient cash if, like us, you only have Visa or Mastercards.

After years of a culinary journey through the desert with unfriendly service and disgusting food it looks like that this place found the right person to run it. My family has been going there for ages so i was excited to try this new place under new leadership and i have to say i was more than satisfied. The selection of cold meat salads is impressive, one better then the other one, we tried and loved them all. The same for the other food from the buffet like pork-belly or meatballs, everything is delicious. The new owner has also butchery where the food is prepared during the day for his new Heurigen. The quality of the meat is top. Due to the fact that the new owner is also a wine-expert the wine-list is really something special , delicious Austrian wines from unknown small vineyards, amazing quality for really good value for your money, you can try everything by glass what we did extensively, price-range between 3.2 and 4.2 Euro and no headache the next day!Absolute great place to go, cant wait to go back, specially at summertime wiuththis amazing garden outside.
