We had great tasting food at this restaurant. We had the burger and fries and pizza. The pizza are very large, so be prepared to share or takeaway. This restaurant has a sunny terrace and a covered terrace. The only drawback is that there are not enough wait staff, there was only one to cover off the entire terrace, so there are long wait times. We tried dinner once there which turned out to be pretty nice. It was rainy evening in July, temperature 14C, we decided to eat here. When we walked toward the door then sat inside, everyone looked at us as we were tourists and not dressed like we were going to hike, which made us a little uncomfortable.Food: I ordered the turkey dish with French fries and salad, mild-hot sauce, but it turned out to be a turkey toast (Teufelstoast): one piece of medium size turkey on two pieces of bread, with 2/3 plates of French fries with thousand island sauce on the turkey. My husband ordered gulasch, normal size. The main dish was served in big plate, the soup was served hot.Maybe the translator didnt put his/her passion in the food, made us get lost in translation.Service: both waitresses were friendly and spoke good English. Service was really fast, the elder waitress passed our table many times like winds passing by.Price: Food mentioned above plus four beer 30.5â¬. Reasonable.Decoration: this restaurant looked like a mini-museum: look up on the wall, we noticed beer cups, horse harnesses, wooden slides, old lederhosen... it's quite unique and characteristic. Outside the restaurant, the Konigssee parking was on the left, 300m away.

Se were out on the terrace on a magnificent day. Staff was very friendly (not the norm in Salzburg), they actually smiled and joked. Solid food as well. The Sausage Plate was OK. The Spinach Knoedlen were very tasty, and the beer perfect.Hi Mr. "GeorgeFMarkhamON", Thank you very much for your feedback. We are happy about the positive one, but we are not located in Salzburg - but in BERCHTESGADEN (Hotel EDELWEISS). Also the pictures you posted are not from our Restaurant. We had a very nice dinner in this relatively new restaurant with a traditional atmosphere. The personnel is very friendly, including the cook! Dishes are based on local ingredients and on Austrian cousine but with a modern, original touch. Highly recommended.

We had dinner at Waldhauser Brau based on TripAdvisor reviews that it has a local pub feel. So true. Only one waiter spoke English, and very few tourists were there. The food and beer were terrific, and we had an excellent experience. My husband and I both had daily specials (pasta with a chicken kabob; local lake trout). Highly recommend.

There is parking outside Berggasthof Oberkalberstein, don't be deterred from driving by the reviews that say the road is too difficult to negotiate; winding your way up the road slowly is quite manageable.We sat outside as the main attraction of this restaurant is the views! I chose the breaded fish and potatoes served with a tartare style sauce, which was very tasty. I thought the potatoes might be too heavy but they were just right. My co-eater had the (very hearty!) three loins of venison in gravy, with cranberries, potato dumplings and red cabbage.The service was friendly but slow (although the view was a good distraction!) We had to attract the attention of a waitress and ask for a dessert menu and then had another wait to place our dessert order and then a further wait when we wanted to settle the bill - it was getting chilly outside by this time so make sure you take a jacket!! The bill itself was very reasonable at only â¬40 for two courses and drinks for two.The view may be the restaurant's main draw, but the enormous "man vs food" sized desserts come a very close second! I had the mixed ice cream - four generous scoops of fruit, chocolate, stracciatella and vanilla - it was delicious! My co-eater had the Windbeutel (cream puff) which was the biggest dessert I've ever seen! Not far off the size of a dinner plate!! The highlight of my evening was seeing the waitress's face when she carried the Windbeutel out; her expression was a mixture of apology and sympathy! All the other diners looked round to see which poor soul was about to develop type 2 diabetes!! :-)

We were staying in a nearby hotel and saw this restaurant by accident whilst driving past. Later that evening we decided to eat there and we were not disappointed. It is about 5 â 10 minutes walk from the âExplorer Hotel Berchtesgadenâ.The atmosphere inside the restaurant was really nice, quite busy and very friendly staff. Not all of the personnel spoke English, but one particular waitress did, so we had no problems asking about the menu. All of the waitresses were dressed in local Bavarian costume, which gave the restaurant a real local feel (especially to us as tourists).There is a good choice on the menu and our food was exceptionally good, very tasty and served well.Our total experience was very good and so we reserved a table for the following evening aswell. Our second evening there was also very good and again without any disappointment. This is a really nice place to eat in, with local cuisine and I would recommend it to anyone who is visiting or staying in Schönau am Königssee.

We stopped for lunch after driving to find a good view of the Königsee lake.We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful view. The menu is traditional and there are daily specials. Service very friendly and attentive. My beef Goulash was below average unfortunately and the bread served with it was stale. Perhaps we were unlucky as today, 1st of May, is a public holiday and the place was busy.One person in our group skipped the soup and had Caesar salad with chicken which was ok.The Weisbeer is very good.

Wanted to take my wife to the "best" restaurand nearby and tripadviser had it rated as No. 1 So we went. Ample parking place. Getting there , we had to drive slowly. Got a table with a beautifull view from the lake. Just the view was worth the dinner. Some of the dishes we ordered, were not available for the day anymore. Got a menu in english. Waiter was nice in the way that they comprehended we were not germand and explained us a bit about what we were going to order. Waiters were busy. But service was good and food was good. Place was great!! Location was great. If you are going to dine on the outside tables, bring a jacket or sweater because temperatures can dro from the time you sit to the time you leave.

Wow, what an experience. The atmosphere is super cute and comfy, you can seat both inside and outside. Since it was raining we werenât fortune enough to see the view. The service was really welcoming and the food exceptional! We had garlic cream soup, sausages, schnitzel and their famous desert. Loved everything! Absolutely recommend.
