Reviewed By aidilnoorWe had a 1 night stopover at Banja Luka and it was a comfortable stay at this hotel. I would say that the interior looks really modern although there's no elevator/lift so you got to lug your suitcases up the stairs. The size of the room is pretty decent and there's a heater too. No kettle but you could go down and request for some hot water. They serve pork ham for breakfast so might not be too halal-friendly although there are other options like waffles and bread. The hotel has a private parking area so parking isn't a problem.

Reviewed By toreiraq06We stayed for a week. The hotel is newish and fit for purpose. Rooms were clean, wifi worked fine. A small gym with a few weight machines and a pool. Breakfast was fine. Staff were friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for walking into the town centre. A slight gap under the door, and sounds come easily though the walls, and no English speaking international news channels on the TV, but worth the visit and I would come again.

Reviewed By 553meridLovely place in a peaceful area near the city centre (5 min car drive). Close to the river and thermal water. Receptionists are wonderful, helpful and kind. Very polite and loved our dog! Spacious room, comfortable bed, large flat tv screen and the wifi worked perfectly fine. Breakfast is delicious, and they also provide you with bosnian cake and coffee. We highly recommend!!

Reviewed By FieogJoergenWe stayed 3 nights in this hotel , We had a wonderfull stay , great room, good size room , wonderfull bed (king size), very clean , great breakfast . Hotel got this nice cafe with the bedst coffe in town , and the staff is great pepole , just wonderfull helpfull staff, and its only a 10 min walk to city center. Car park in the back of the hotel , seems safe . we will be back for sure.

The rooms are quite comfortable, albeit that the airco wasn't straightforward to manage, the bar in front caused a lot of noise at night and the frigo in the room made to much noise. But quite good breakfast and some of the staff were friendly.

Hotel Atina is a located 5 minutes walking distance off the city centre. Quiet and comfortable location, ideal for business and leisure. Free parking on hotel grounds, free Wi-Fi.
Worn-Out and filty Hotel Atina
Reviewed By John JUnfortunately Hotel Atina was very worn-out compared to when we used it 12 years ago. At arrival the reception clerk clamed we had booked 3 nights, however we had booking confirmation from Booking.com showing 2 nights and she withdraw her claim but with no apology. Next time we passed the reception she claimed that we had double booked via both Booking.com as well as by email. As we knew we hadn't sent any email, we asked to see it, and it was an email from a very different name and country. Again she gave us no apology only saying "oh it's not you". We were initially given room 206 and discovered and were told that the safe didn't work. In addition the lights over the dressing mirror didn't work, the room and particularly the bathroom and shower was very filthy and with black fungous. The hose to the hair dryer was taped, there was only one glass in a double room, there was only one reading lamp on the bedside, and the carpet was very filthy with a colony of ants. The terrace also very filthy with only one chair and no table. After complaining we were given room 209 which were also very filthy and the toilet cover was broken, the outflow in the sink was partly blocked, smelling, and dirt came up. The Jacuzzi bath didn't work and was leaking underneath and was very filthy. The emergency alarm in the bath was out of order. In general the carpets in steps and around the hotel was also very filthy with holes, and we were told that the restaurant was open only for breakfast. There were no lift for elderly people. etc. etc. Please see enclosed pictures. At check out we were compensated with breakfast without charge followed by the clerk commenting that her boss said "we were bad people".

Reviewed By beppo81Great place in Banja Luka. On top of a lovely fish restaurant, the rooms are nice and clean. A good breakfast is prepared every day. Staff speak only a little English but it is not difficult to understand.

If it were a hostel, I would have liked it
Reviewed By Boris DI still struggle to understand why is this establishment called a hotel. It's tiny and the rooms are as basic as it gets in a hostel. The prices correspond to the concept. The walls are paper thin. I could never tell if the people were inside my room or next door - I could hear every word. For the New Year's Eve the party downstairs began in the early afternoon and there was no chance to rest. The reception has about half a square meter. The breakfast room is next door and the receptionist acts as a waitress. The food is OK though (probably the best feature of the place). The hotel is located within 15-20 min walk from the centre of Banja Luka. There are some basic stores around it so you can buy stuff, if needed. Another nice aspect is the staff friendliness. They are very nice folks so I feel somewhat guilty for the 2* review from that perspective. But the hotel really isn't worth your stay. There are many good alternatives in town and you should look into them - and it won't cost you much more.
