Hier vermutet man eigentlich kein Bistro dieser GröÃe. Freundliche Bedienung und alles, was diese handwerklich wirklich gute Bäckerei zu bieten hat. Besonders zu empfehlen ist das pure Dinkelbrot. Aber nicht nur das Frühstück ist lecker, sondern auch die Salate und Pizza. Auch im Winterhalbjahr kann man nicht gut drauÃen sitzen, aber auch im Innenraum essen. Eigentlich ist es zu jeder Tageszeit voll besetzt, nicht nur in den Ferien. Der einzige Wermutstropfen ist der laute Autoverkehr, da der AuÃenbereich direkt an die L1111 grenzt.

Twee jaar geleden (een eerdere vakantie) hier voor het laatst gegeten. Toen, 2013 koesterde we warme herinneringen aan het eten hier. Prettig schaduwrijk terras, fris bier, eerlijk eten tegen schappelijke prijzen (zelfs goedkoop te noemen).Nu 2015 deze zaak wederom bezocht op een rustige, koele maandagavond in augustus. Het was slecht weer, terras dicht, dus naar binnen, maar hoe? Drie deuren proberen en ja hoor, de ingang gevonden. Op een binnenplaatsje staat een deur open en dan de trap op. Dit kan nooit goed zijn, maar toch...Er waren nog geen klanten, maar desondanks waren we welkom. De gastheer is was ouder en komt bij je aan tafel zitten om de bestelling op te nemen. (alsof ie de offerte voor een nieuwe auto met doorneemt). Enfin een cordon blue en een schnitzel wiener art dus... met twee bier. Wel vriendelijk overigens. Je voelt je bijna bezwaard, de dae in de keuken is wel wat kwieker, maar zeker ook niet de jongste.Het bier smaakt en spotgoedkoop. De schnitzel en de cordon bleu zijn pangebakken (geen frituur gerotzooi gelukkig), de frietje erbij prima. De salade mag je van het buffet halen. Hier is rijkelijk gewerkt met poedertjes om dressing te maken. De kok heet hier Knor. Niet erg, maar wel jammer. Als voorbeeld wel zelf aardappelsalade maken (schillen, koken, afkoelen, snijden) maar dan op smaak brengen met een poedertje. Jammer, maar zeker wel smakelijk, daar zorgen ze bij Knor wel voor.Samengevat: 3 uit 5. Het was niet slecht, het eten was best lekker, maar het voldeed niet aan mijn verwachtingen door mijn betere herinneringen uit 2013.

Leider hat die Qualität und die Auswahl des Essens sowie der Service nachgelassen. Die Preise sind daher nur noch begrenzt gerechtfertigt.War mal ein ordentliches gut bürgerliches Restaurant, bei unsere letzten Besuch war aber kaum noch Wild verfügbar obwohl auf der Karte geführt, pro Tisch gab es nur eine Karte für mehrere Erwachsene obwohl das Restaurant fast leer war an einem Sonntag Mittag!Essen war okay aber nicht ausergewöhnlich, auch die Menge könnte etwas mehr sein.Servicepersonal ist wie gehabt extrem spieÃig.In Kombination der o. g. Punkte lädt dies nicht gerade zur Wiedeholung ein.

Nice place tucked away in the German countryside. The lunch's were great, ate here several times and it was always busy but they know if you are there for lunch that you need good quick service. The building is fascinating being made out of 650 cubic meters of huge logs, like a giant log cabin. The carvings on some of the logs are really interesting also.

The greatest hits are the greatest hits for a reason: they are simply enjoyable and timeless. The kitchen in this restaurant did not make a lot of renewals in the last years, Iâm visiting this place. The Schwabenteller (sirloin of pork with Spätzle, mushrooms and a Maultasche) is still delicious. The Zwiebelrostbraten is still good, a well baked steak, although a bit more pepper and the sauce could be thickened a bit. The side salads stand out from many other side salads: fresh with a fine dressing and interesting ingredients.The service is as ever good, but a little stressed. The number of tables the waitress has to take care of is large. She manages well and stays friendly, but you feel the continuous rush. Anyhow, this is perhaps a way to keep the prices moderate. Food, drinks, service and all that is offered is value for money, without a single doubt. The menu that stayed almost the same of the last years and hence could be boring for the cook: doing everyday the same, but it remains executed consistently well. Are we also wondering on the artists at the stage that play the same hits over again. It is what it is, good music, and in this restaurant good food! I reconfirm my 5 out of 5.

I stayed there for two days, we ate dinner and it was delicious. Very good and fresh food, big portions and good price.Very friendly staff. We are definitely coming back.

Although announced as 'biker friendly hotel' on several websites, our group of 10 bikers was fairly disappointed when they even didn't have a garage for the motorbikes!We were the only bikers at that moment, and felt quite 'isolated'. Since we were a group of about 14 persons, we were put apart from the restaurant.The hotel on itself is OK, but rather suited for senior tourists, wellness and (local) wine tasting. Rather impersonal service.

I had the opportunity to visit this restaurant with some colleagues from work. What a treat is was! The views of the valley and lake below are spectacular. We sat outside of course and enjoyed the view as well as the food. I had fish and I recommend you tell them to remove the head and the skin beforehand. I didn't expect that and for me that is a real turn off. Once they brought it back cleaned I enjoyed it a lot.

This is located immediately next to reception in Best Western Kastell hotel. The receipt shows Best Western. But it's independent. Cash or card. No charging to room. Friendly, efficient staff. Fairly obvious they'd rather be socialising with their friends, many of whom seem to be hanging around in Juls Bar, wandering in and out of the sliding door, presumably to smoke, drafty every time they open it. Lots of hugging and whooping and noise. Not sure if they work at the hotel or bar but it was all very familiar and to be honest I felt I was intruding by asking for a beer. The food was strange but it does say Steak in the title. Steak, steak, steak or steak or burger. No fish. No pizza. A veggie burger option. Steak well cooked. A bit rare for medium but good. Small salad and kraut. Decent food and not bad price for a hotel. But then, it's not part of the hotel. Or is it. It's a bar, and restaurant. There's a cat. It's in behind the bar. It's in between the tables. Don't say aaah, a cute cat. I'm indifferent to cats but I don't want one under my chair and wandering behind the bar. It's not hygienic. Pic attached. Would put me off staying at this hotel.
