It is an "American Bar and Restaurant". We went there because that evening every restaurant was closed !! We had hamburgers and Texas wrap...not what you expect to eat in Germany. However the food was good. The ambiance quite neutral...we could have been anywhere in the world. Open till late (very good point in Germany).

This is a very authentic Portuguese restaurant with an excellent selection of dishes, there are also Portuguese beers and wines available to accompany your meal. The portions are huge and delicious and at about €15 for a main they’re really good value for money.
Staff were efficient and friendly. This is definitely worth seeking out if you find yourself in Backnang.

Joined local friends here for lunch. Food of an acceptable quality and quantity, day's menu reasonable for both price and quality. Several errors made on order, which slightly influenced the views on the restaurant. Very typical German menu, and prices.

Mario's Spaghettihouse is more than what we expected. It's just down the street and doesn't look like much on the outside, but inside it is something else. First, it's very clean and nice...cloth table coverings and napkins...not what you'd expect from a little place on a busy street. Next is the food: Hot, fresh and homemade. The pizza is delicious, the pasta is definitely fresh, and the house red wine, Montepulciano, is amazing. We've been back several times and never fail to get great service, super food and all at a reasonable price. Two thumbs up!

Maybe I am not used to organic food but I expect at least some taste which I missed completely.
Do not ask me what I had - we have been in 4 and tested all the 4 different meals from each other - the taste was all the same. The vegetable cooked much too long - this is one reason why there was no taste- The meat was slightly grey - maybe due to the low light.
Once you go there - try to train your brain for the lecturing of the owner concerning his offer of the day. There was no menu to read from so you have to remember what he told you. I had my problems. This can also be the reason why I have chosen the wrong dish - a fish.

Das Lokal ist in der Ortsmitte von Heinigen. Einige Parkplätze sind direkt vor dem Haus. Abends sollte man reservieren. Die Pizzen sind lecker und knusprig. Die Bedienung sehr freundlich.
Die Pizzen zum Mitnehmen leider sehr sparsam belegt und die Nudelgerichte mit sehr wenig Soße. Schade, wenn man was holt wenn man Gäste zu Hause hat, dann ist das enttäuschend. Ab und an Montags Pizzatag zu sehr günstigem Preis.

I must say that this is one of my favorite restaurant in Germany.
Always fresh ingredients, tasty food, quick and friendly service.
I had for years lunch in one other restaurant in Backnang that belong to the same family. Both restaurants are very good. The first one, China Thai Imbiss on Spaltgasse 7, is a more for lunch break the one that am reviewing now is more for dinner. But no matter when you decide to go in one of then, you will get fast a very tasty food.

The old Santa Lucia moved from down town Backnang to a new location built by the Backnang protect club. By changing location all the staff and the good tradition of serving Italian food in real Italian style has moved with the restaurant.
Try the lunch offer - as the restaurant is near a new industrial area you will find fresh and tasty meals at reasonable prices.
During weekends and for lunch it is advisable to make Reservations.
