Red's Burger House

WOW! A black bean veggie burger in Azle! Unlike most restaurants these days, Red's actually put thought into creating a vegetarian option. The flavor in the patty is wonderful. The combination of cheeses along with the other toppings make this our new favorite burger. We had avoided Red's because we assumed a small town burger place may be a little behind the times. Don't make our mistake and judge too quickly. They have gluten free bun options, and serve locally crafted beer! This place is a little gem hidden in a small town. We received excellent, friendly service, and our food was out quickly.

Decided today to splurge our tummies with a juicy burger from DQ. Haven't been there in years. I asked for the meat to not be sqeezed down...we wanted juicy. They obviously didn't listed because the patty wasn't much different from MickieDs - maybe a bit bigger, but just as skinny and dry. And we could barely tell there was any mustard on it. Had to add more at home. I know they aren't supposed to make them at DQ until you order. But it was ready and bagged up in the time it took me to go to the RR. Now I wonder if they "fudge" on that rule.

The onion rings were just OK. So...sorry to say that this DQ at least didn't live up to expectations. Mediocre.

El Paseo Mexican Restaurant

Food is consistently excellent. Going through a management change but seems to be little affect on the food and service. Our waiter, "Pancho", was absolutely excellent. Actually waited for a table in his section because he has always served us well. This includes when I was able to take by 90+ year old mom where he greeted her with a hug and spoke to her clearly. Pancho is the primary reason we frequent El Paseo in Azle.

Pretty good food. Hot sauce excellent but chips had a funky aftertaste so that kind of took away from enjoying the sauce. I was surprised that they don't offer any combination plates. No plates with an enchilada and a taco or any other combination. Rice was great other than they put a lot of whole kernel corn in it. Thought $8.99 was a little high for "lunch specials" although El Paseo prices are the same but their food isn't good. Used to eating Mexican food in Decatur, Sanger, Krum, Denton, etc. and lunch specials range from $5.99 to $7.99. I had the chili relleno (delicious) and hubby had an enchilada plate that he said was good.

Starting as a culinary dream now turned reality with a hope to bless the community with good food and a good place to bring your family.

Being new to Texas we took off this afternoon up Azle way to "check things out". We decided to look for a restaurant. On 'Yelp' Pat saw the Creekside Grill so we set off to try it.
At 10400 S. FM 730 (Azle Hwy) about 4 miles south of Azle, we did not find a creek :-) but we found in a nearly new large building on the east side of the road we found Creekside Grill. Open 5-9 on Thursday-Friday and 12-9 Sat-Sun, it was great. Steakhouse menu with chicken, steak, and chops and other items. The food was excellent and the price was VERY reasonable. Very clean. We WILL go back.

Jared, the cook made a beautifully presented burger. So often a wrapped fast food burger is smashed and thrown together, this burger was delicious and carefully wrapped to preserve its appearance. Cooked just right, the cheese was melty but was still square and all was centered properly on the bun. Great work, Jared, no I am not related to him nor have I ever met him before today. He takes great pride in his work.

What's not to like! This Subway is right on a main road north of town - easy location. Like all Subways, the price is right, selection is nearly unlimited, and there are healthy options. Breakfast Lunch, Dinner. Something for everyone - including giant pretzels, pies, soups, salads. There are two Subways in Azle and one of those is in Walmart, so grab dinner on the way out after shopping! And come to this one to avoid the Wally World crowds! You'll love it.

Enjoyed a Sunday lunch here with friends recently, and was pleasantly surprised. The salad bar was quite respectable, and the food was served quickly. The cajun catfish was delicious. Wait staff was efficient, and the prices were quite reasonable in my opinion. We will probably return again to try some other seafood offerings as well!

Azle Cafe

Reviewed By brotatcotton - Decatur, Texas

Hubby and I ate there about 3:00 pm one day last week. Only a couple other tables were occupied. Service was great, waitress very friendly. Hubby ordered hamburger steak and he said it was very good. My mistake was ordering a breakfast plate late in the afternoon. Biscuit I guess was left-over from the morning, cold and hard. Eggs were cold and hash browns were fried too hard. Very crispy. The only thing hot and good was the gravy. I should have said something and I'm sure they would have given me something else. Will definitely try it again sometime since other reviews are very positive.
