As planned during December stay in Bad Hofgastein, this time we decided to try out DAS FRANZ Restaurant in Salzburgerhof. The place is indeed a great culinary experience and worth recommendation. And, what is sometimes more important than taste, they understand the approach to a guest as most important âingredientâ, offerin high service standard. During our our 5-day stay in Bad Hofgastein we went there 3 times and every time got satisfied! Coming to Bad Hofgastein once or twice a year we will definitely become regulars here!

Agriturismo/farmerhouse in Austrian style. Very small but very picturesque place. All is cooked in front of the client on the fire place. Foods are bio and the beer produced in the farm. I suggest this place for a very different and nice dinner mostly in the warm months: when you can eat under the stars in the open air! Medium/low price.

This restaurant is situated on a hillside overlooking Gastein Valley and has a marvellous view to the surrounding mountains. The kitchen is typicall Austrian and among the best in the area. Sweets are outstanding and the Cheesecake with Blueberies (actually Heidelbeertopfenstrudel, but it's difficult to correctly translate) is the very best I ever ate. But if you just care for a coffee or a cold beer, you will be also wellcome and have a good time. When I am in Bad Hofgastein, I visit it regularly and call it my second living room ;-)

Nettes Ambiente, kompetente und freundliche Bedienung.Leckeres Carpaccio und Salat, der heimische Hirsch war sehr fein. Ein leckerer Marillenschnaps und ein feines Schokomousse runden das Ganze ab.Die Weine sind ein Tick zu teuer.
