My family enjoyed a wonderful prix fixe Christmas luncheon at this lovely restaurant, surrounded by ocean views and the stunning Mount Etna. Don't be fooled by the modest entrance -- inside are linen-draped tables in a luxurious dining room. The other diners were elegantly dressed so the restaurant draws some the local finest. Our meal included phyllo strudel with anchovies, tuna carpaccio (melted in your mouth), gnocchi with a delicious ragout sauce, an elegant fresh lasagnetta featuring tiny morsels of fresh seafood, and a poached pistachio salmon dish. Several wines and appertivos were included, and the dessert was a delicious cheesecake. The price per person was 45Euro. For our family, this was an extravagant outing, but the price was reasonable given the fresh and delicious meal and the expert Waitstaff and remarkable surrounding. For a special occasion, Al Castello is a sure winner. Our dining experience there will remain a highlight of our ten-day family vacation.

Entrance was not encouraging. But once in the waitperson gave us full attention, explaining the menu. We chose to share three plates. Each half was plated separately. All good. Surprised to see the other diners were locals out on a Friday night. Very pleasant dining experience.

Lovely restaurant, slightly difficult to find. However with all restaurants around Brucoli, it is best to book beforehand.

After a shaky start where nobody seemed to speak English and we were given the impression that they really didn't care too much anyway, things just got better and better (probably in no small part to the very good waiter who eventually served our table). Food portions were, shall we say, generous in the extreme and very well cooked and presented. Good selection of wines though they did run out of one we were drinking. Just outside of the main town but well worth finding.

Wonderful atmosphere and delicious food. Really was a great experience for myMaltese girlfriend who had never had a proper Sicilian dinner before. We had a dinner with my family and our two year old. The dinner was. 3 mussle soups, 1 octopus salad, curry risotto , 2 fresh pasta dishes, 2 plates of antipasta. 2 bottles of local wine, a personal cheese pizza for a small child, bottle of still water and a bottle of sparkling water and 2 side salads = 125 euro. Thurday nights they have Mexican food but I understand it is not very good. Come here any other night for Pizza or traditional Sicilian cuisine.

Hard to find but well worth the trip. We visited on our first evening in Augusta because we didn't want to eat in the hotel. Super friendly and really helpful. We were served local specialities from Sicily and really enjoyed the special treatment, no menu but everything we ordered was super (we returned two more times before returning home). Trust your hostess and she we arrange a wonderful meal. We did not have a pizza here so can't offer advice there but the bread was great. Go past the Ard toward Augusta and turn left on the first road, there is only one small yellow sign on the main road. A Massaria is on the left tucked away behind a tall white wall.

This outdoor restaurant is a cozy Italian Pizzeria, with an exelent bartender.
The food is pizza onley.
In the evening, You can also drop in (outdoor) and just have something to drink.
The pizza is ordenary size and taste realy good!!!
I can recomend this restaurant/bar if you are hungry or just want something to drink!

We were staying in Brucoli and looking for a place to eat that didn't just do pizzas. We were directed to this place by a local Sicilain and when we turned up we didn't know what to expect.
The female owner spoke excellent English and helped us with the menu, recommending the signature dish of local seasonal fish (it changes with the seasons), and other things too.
When the food arrived, my son said his pizza was exellent, my daughter said her pasta was the best ever and my signature fish dish (a plate with about 7 different pieces of fish to try) was one of the best I've EVER had. It was very resonably priced.
At the end the owner offered us a complimentary liquer and sorbet for the children, a lovely touch and we left a big tip. I only wish this restaurant was local and we hadn't discovered it on our last night in Sicily otherwise we would definitely go again!

The Red Lions is owned and operated by Giuseppe and his two sons. I was recommended there by Giuseppe's brother Angelo who operates a fish restaurant in Malta. On this visit to Sicily, we visited Red Lions twice and we enjoyed both visits. This restaurant has received many prizes for its pizza and fully deserves it. The choice is unusual, with many unheard of pizzas which I suppose makes this restaurant unique. Their Pizziaiotti, a double sided pizza is worth having as a starter. I am told what makes a pizza great is its pastry and at Red Lions you won't be disappointed. If you like pizza you must try Red Lions, a strange name I know for a pizzeria in Sicily. Next time I go I must ask about the name.
