The people who own L'Amicale really make you feel welcome. Their food is delicious. And the place is a comfortable retreat from the bustle of the street. What more could you ask?P.S. The dates of when I visited are a year off. I was in Ouidah from July to October, 2012, and visited L'Amicale frequently during that time.

This was the best meal I had in Benin. I was staying in Cotonou for a conference but visited Ouidah for an afternoon. The food was delicious, the outside dining area is pleasant, and the staff is very friendly. Definitely recommended for a leisurely lunch.

Just on the other corner opposite the nice museum of Modern African Art Musée Zinsou, this restaurant offers you a creative variety of nice dishes at a very reasonable price. Very friendly service is added. The more than hundred years old building offers a special charm to this place.
