I visit the Mad Hatter Cafe regularly with my young daughter and always leave feeling very impressed. The food is as tasty as you could ever expect in a “cafe”. The superfood salad is delicious and generously served. The staff are welcoming and efficient and always very child-friendly. You’d be mad not to try it!

This pub/restaurant is quite local to us,we visited here 4 years ago and it was appalling. We were told that it had changed ownership and decided to give it another go. Very pleasantly surprised the place was completely empty as we were eating early at 18:00 hours. Food was tasty and very very pleasant,I got a pulled pork with the bree starter very pleasant indeed. Friendly service from the nice waitress good pint nice and cold. Toilets were clean plenty of parking outside. The car park itself could do with a bit of a spruce up some flowers trees et cetera. Overall pleasant experience will be happy to go back there again possibly sooner rather than later :-).

We had Sunday lunch the restaurant was very busy but I had roast beef and my friends had Turkey and ham. Both meals served in a lump on the plate with the meat on top of the potatoes it was most uninspiring and off-putting. I complained to the waitress that the potatoes was cold. She said she would let the chef know. There was no feedback from that complaint. A very disappointing meal.

Some of the dishes that were served looked ok, and not too bad. But my dish was fairly tasteless and I won't order the same again. The price was average enough. The environment was very small and cramped. The level of hygiene was ok but not great. The staff could benefit form a new uniform as their current uniforms seemed shabby and dull.

Dinner here on a Saturday night was very pleasant. Starters were excellent - the duck terrine in particular was very good. Mains were excellent all around - chicken roulade, sea bass and duck breast were all very good. [side note - can chefs stop using pea shoots as a garnish especially when there are no peas on the plate - they are pointless - your plates of food don’t need it]. Desserts also had some high notes but some of the flavours don’t marry well together - mango sorbet whilst excellence doesn’t go well with a coffee creme brûlée. Raspberries and pineapple shouldn’t be in the same plate. A lime sorbet with the pineapple would have worked better. Decent selection of wines. Chairs that the restaurant selected when fitting out the room - faux leather - are now very worn and unsightly and are a disappointment as they give an impression that the kitchen doesn’t care as much about the dining room as they do about their food!
