Nice to see that "Kanavan Kunkku" has been added to Tripadvisor as this is the place to have your lunch (or dinner) if you are passing Vääksy. I have visited this small restaurant several times during the last year and I have never been disappointed with the food. The sallads are fresh, the burgers are good, pizzas are excellent...Add to that, that service is very good and the atmosphere fine and special, and you know what "Kanavan Kunkku" is.

I have visited at Majakkapaviljonki all ready quite many years as a boater. Majakkapaviljonki is offering all needed services for the boaters. You can find out refueling, good food, boats parts. I need to thank personal of Majakkapaviljonki for smiling work.

Sun is shining and you need some refreshment.
Come to Vääksy and visit French Villageshop. Close your eyes and you could be somewhere else.
You can buy souveniers, fashion and arts and grafts.
The house is historical, and shop fits perfectly in. There other interesting pop-up shops and Laura's shop very near.

The spectacular view to Lake Päijänne and delicious food are the best parts of this restaurant. The summer Terrace is large and wonderful. However, some minor details are a bit worn-out, especially in toilets.
They serve hamburgers, salads, pizzas, chicken, steaks etc. The selection isn't very large. I had a very delicious portion of fried vendaces (muikut) directly from Lake Päijänne. Creamy smoked salmon soup seemed to be good, too.

Café Sokerilla (Kahvila Sokerilla) is situated in the center of Vääksy, the main locality of the municipality of Asikkala. This cafeteria is small but very charming, especially if the weather is good and you can sit outside. The selection isn't very big, mainly buns and perhaps 1-2 different cakes or pies. However, everything is very delicious.

Kiva ja erilainen kahvila, hyvä palvelu. Vanhaa esineistöä esillä ja sisustettu mielenkiintoisesti. Ei tiennyt mihin olisi katsellut, kun kaikkialla kivoja tavaroita. Suosittelen pysähtymään.
