The real deal! Italian ice cream always top.Not too large variety but some classic and local flavor.Bit pricey but fair compared to many on the island.

Tried to visit 3 times during their opening ours but it was closed. The webpage and online reservation redirect you to another restaurant - a pizzeria in truck yard. It was extremely weird...

Le Capri & Marty's Crepes

Reviewed By FDF-resident

This may seem surprising, but the best pizza I have had in and outside of Italy is made by Le Capri in Fort-de-France. The restaurant itself is nothing to write home about, largely open to the street, it only boast a few tables and not much service. Most customers are rather waiting for a pizza to take home and do not dine in. However, if you are not looking for a posh dining experience with armies of waiters to serve at your table, there is no reason not to enjoy eating in. Le Capri is noisy with take-away customers constantly coming and going, there is television and a lottery ticket counter, but on the other hand, while there, you can be part of the everyday life of Terres Sainville, Fort-de-France's most popular and international, albeit rather poor quarter. The pizza menu includes the usual classical favourites like Four Seasons, but also more French creations with potatoes and bacon, or the highly recommended goat cheese and honey pizza. If you are on a budget, there are also a couple of special economy pizzas. All pizzas are freshly prepared in front of you - which explains not only the numerous waiting take-away customers, but also the limited success the airconditioning has in its efforts to provide a "cool" dining experience. The selection of drinks other than soft-drinks is limited, but the one or two wines on offer are usually of good quality and the only thing which could be said against the beer is that it comes in cans and bottles - for wine you do get a glass! There are some excellent desserts made on the premises - chocolate mousse, tiramisu and such - and obviously crêpes. Having been taken in completely by the pizza, I cannot comment on the crêpes (a relatively recent addition to the menu) from personal experience, but if Marty has made as much of an effort to master authentic crêpes as he has made for creating first-class pizza, they probably are very good as well.To sum up, if you can overlook the take-away feel of the restaurant, or if on the other hand you enjoy being miles away from the haunts of the Martinican posh upper and middle class, you get an oustanding pizza for a reasonable price (anyway, there is nothing really cheap in Fort-de-France).

Aldo Pizza

The shed by the roadside doesn’t look like much. Waiting on the pavement may seem too long. But anyway Aldo Pizza can’t be matched ! Pizza are baked in a wood-burning stove, dough is light, crusty, generously filled. My favorites are Romaine, Napolitaine, Pissaladière.In Cluny district a friendly and dynamic family staff has been running for years the best pizza business in town.

La tavola italiana

Restaurant hidden in a villa on Route de Didier. Looking like a family trattoria. Often packed with regulars. In the long dining room the wooden bar, portait photos on the yellow walls, black and white checkered tiles create a charming outdated atmosphere.Pleasant to taste traditional Italian specialties like a Spritz as aperitif, octopus salad, fagottini, Emiliana tagliatelle, zucchini and tomato linguine, gnocchi al gorgonzola, a glass of Lambrusco. Friendly and efficient service, decent prices. La bella vita.

Apicius

...if you are in the front sea in Schoelcher, it's hard to reconise the restaurant: no pannel light, no signe outside. But when you come inside you find finnaly a very good and smart restaurant. Ida, the chef (and the boss) she is a italian girl and she propose a traditional HANDMADE fresh pasta: tagliatelle, ravioli, gnocchi! Another big force is the fresh fish: ok, easy in a restaurant in a Carribbean island but for me was the first time i see a real live fresh clams ready to cook!!! So, you can choise the table inside or outside, nice ambient and very professional and gently staff. And the kitchen close at 22.00!
