Hotel-Restaurant Seegarten

Sauerland is known for its beautiful countryside and traditions, also when it comes to food and dining. Seegarten restaurant distinguishes itself by also 'serving' innovation. This manifests itself in several ways. The outdoor Terrace is equipped with ramps surrounded by ponds with beautiful plants and interesting lighting - go there if possible on a warm summer night. From the Terrace one has a view of the beautiful modern architecture of the new hotel section including floating pool. Once the guest is seated he can experience in the choices and the quality of the food traditional elements as well as proven techniques supplemented with innovation. Appetizers, breads, accompanying wines are of good quality: our main courses 'Dorade' and 'Deer in two ways' (both about € 30-35) are highly recommended. There are also cheaper main courses. Big salads are served for vegetarians. Professional staff.

I don't speak German, they didn't speak much english. I didn't matter! Cake and tea were achieved. The only thing to be prepared for is to just find your seats and then they'll come to you, don't wait to be seated.
The cakes are huge and incredible. We didn't eat a main meal but what we could see coming out around us certainly made us wish we were!

Pizzeria Calabria

We each had a pizza and shared a salad.
The staff was very friendly.
The pizzas were good, but together with the bread served as an appetiser, I thought was a little undercooked. This might be a matter of taste, because I think it was intended to be served this way.
The mixed vegetable pizza ('primavera') was not vegetarian, it also had ham and two kinds of fish. Vegetarians are stuck ordering a single ingredient pizza (onion, mushroom, cheese, spinach) or negotiating something not on the menu.
Our salad was more than big enough for the two of us and the ingredients were fresh. The taste of the salad was really lacking however, like everything was bought inexpensively from the supermarket.
I wouldn't be afraid to go there again, but might look for something else first.

Im Großen und Ganzen in Ordnung, aber mehrer "ABER"
Pro:
- Parkplatz hinter dem Haus (Kostenerstattung durch Parkgutscheine im Restaurant)
- Ambiente ansprechend
- Hauptgericht (Lende mit Pfeffersoße) sehr gut
Naja:

On a very wet and windy day decided to have a drive out to this restaurant. The food is wonderful and the ambience of the restaurant was really lovely. Very unusual with stunning décor and the service was excellent. Will definitely come back in the Summer when the lake and surrounding area will just give perfection to this place. Very reasonable and well worth the visit but it can be very busy and although we didn't have a problem to be seated it probably would be best to book .

First I like the Menu, because they have some good vegan dishes.... If you have allergy, it isn't a problem, they do the best. You can order a steak of some ostrich meat..... Dishes at about 17-23 € the most of the time for meat.... Not a lot of tables, because they prefer quality;... confortable to seat and the next table isn't 15 cm of yours.....Thanks to the crew.

We took a party of six to lunch in this historic old bake house, now a restaurant in the old part of Arnsberg. We tried the kutscherpfanne (coachman's fry-up) which was a revelation! If you - no - when you visit, also try kartoffelpfanne (a potato speciality).

Menge

Reviewed By Bosbeek

The picturesque ancient part of Arnsberg is situated on a cliff. The restaurant is somewhat outside the old town at the foot of the mountain. The street where Hotel Menge is located, is not the most attractive area, but thanks to the park-like garden behind the hotel/restaurant it is quickly forgotten. The restaurant is attractively furnished and equipped with all modern features, including a covered Terrace overlooking the garden. We had chosen to travel to this restaurant because of the positive comments from other reviewers. And they were right: it is worth a detour. The five-course gourmet menu ("Feinschmecker in 5 Gängen", approx. € 60) was of high quality. The dish with monkfish was excellent and is by far our favorite. The dish with fried cheese (the rhubarb chutney was good anyway), we unfortunately can not recommend. For those who want to drink moderately, the separate card with a rich choice of open wines is a must! All in all, good quality that you get charged too.

The meat is lovely. It is a pity that the vegetables are frozen vegetables and not fresh. Before the main dish they give a fresh salade. I would recommend the owner to give just the fresh salade together ith main dish. We took a plate for 2 and also there was to many french fries on the dish. The rice was delicious but such a small portion and the fresh tomatoes were delightful to. If they don't give frozen vegetables no more , it is better !!!
